So I filed in March 2021.

At first it said the processing time is about 11 months.

Two weeks later, "We are taking longer to process your case. You do not need to do anything"

Now: "Your N-400 personalized processing time is down for maintenance."

Did anyone else experience something like this?

Yep!! That’s where I’m at right now.

Thank you for your response!

So, I just browsed other threads and apparently the same thing happened to the 2020 filers too. Nothing to be worried about.

Hey Maaaaay, don't feel alone in that hahaha, we all passed these stages exactly as you did,  and now personalized processing time is down for everyone. Earlier in April USCIS started updating its website, so since that everything is incorrect on the website, so as I've said earlier don't feel alone 🤣😂😆

Thank you for letting me know!

I am relieved that it is not just me! 😬🤣

So I had my interview today (KC MO) and was approved! Just waiting on my oath date!

Interview was really straightforward. I can't believe it was this fast!!

What type of questions did they ask?

For the interview they just went over my application and asked me to reaffirm what I'd put in there and had anything changed. He went over my info after doing the civics and English tests. But he didn't ask me anything that wasn't already in my application.

Civics qs:

First three words in the preamble of the constitution

Name a state that borders Canada

Name a state that borders Mexico

What are two rights granted by the Declaration of Independence.

Who signs bills into law

How long do we elect a president for?

Today I had my interview at BOS office (I reside in CT) and I'm also Divorced

I arrived 15mins early and the officer was super nice and I felt comfortable. She was on a video call with me on an iPad to conduct the interview.

We started with the civics test. I was asked 6 questions and got all 6 correct.

  1. Who was the first President?
  2. What is the name of the Vice President of the United States now?
  3. Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
  4. What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?
  5. When is the last day you can send in federal income tax forms?
  6.  What is one responsibility that is only for United States citizens?

We then moved to the reading test. She printed a piece of paper on the printer and asked me to read what it said

"Who lives in the White House?"

Then we moved to a writing test. She printed a piece of paper on the printer and asked me to write

"The President lives in the White House"

She then told me I passed the test and asked me questions about my application. For the people who are divorced, in my case they didn't ask me for any supporting documents (I did walk with my divorce papers but they didn't ask for it). She asked me what is my ex spouse full name and what month and year we got divorce. She asked me if I traveled outside the USA in the past 5 years and where. My date of birth, address and phone number. Then we moved to the yes and no questions that you fill out on your N-400 application (she just basically repeated all the questions and I answered exactly how I wrote it on the form).

After that, she basically printed a form on the printer and told me congratulations she is recommending for my application to be approved. I was so excited, then she said today you will be doing your oath ceremony, I was sooooooo HAPPY! I did the oath ceremony and got my Naturalization paper same day. the entire process took about 30mins or less. I am glad the journey is finally over and I wish you all the best. I am applying for my passport on Friday.

Hey Avania! Congratulations on being a citizen! A quick question please! Were you divorced from the person who you gained your green card from? I'm asking because this is my situation, thank you in advance

So my wife has her interview next month and the interview checklist states that she has to bring my certificate of citizenship as evidence of my US citizenship. Can she use my US passport instead? I havent seen my CoC since her visa interview.

She definitely can use your passport if your passport was issued at least 3 years ago on the day of her interview since the law says that the US spouse must be a US citizen at least 3 years on the day of the interview

Hello All,

I intend to file my N-400 in a few months and curiously checked the requirements.

My question is the for the 3 years IRS transcripts does it matter if we filed as Married filing jointly, separately or if we file as Head of Household ?

Extremely important if you file under 3 year rule, before uscis grants you an approval they want to see that you live and manage your life (physically and financially) with your spouse. Tax report filled under "married" takes a big place of the USCIS decision.
