I was married for 13 years, separated now for nearly 5 years, he is also a GC holder, as am I, since 2007 (obtained through him). So, I have been a GC holder for 12 years and applied for citizenship based on 5 year rule back in. Divorce was filed after the start of my citizenship application. We have a 12 year old child. If someone can please guide me as to how this divorce will affect my citizenship interview process, I really appreciate your advise. What documentation might be good to carry along for the interview, what questions may be likely come up, do they ask about marital status at all for 5 year N400 application? Additionally,  how does one get 5 year tax transcripts. This is in CA. TIA.

How long had you two been married before you obtained the green card? Did you get 2 year or 5 year green card?

Five years. By the time I applied for citizenship, we had been married for approx 17 years, had a GC for 10 years, renewed it 3 years ago, which means I have been a GC holder for 13 years now.

N400 documentations lists include your history of marriages if you obtained your green cards via marriage. You also have to include proof of divorce. Since your GC status is 10 years, and since you applied in 5 year basis yo shuoldn't have problems.

As for tax, you can make an account with IRS and get the tax transcripts.
