So how many days a year can you wear it for its intended use.

What, mucking about in the countryside looking like I am outdoorsy but it's more like I like going for a decent walk as long as it ends in a pub with a nice fire and a decent pint or three and someone will come pick me up so I don't need to walk back? Depends on when I can travel to the UK again. :P

Other uses: watching other people muck out stables; expressing opinions on world events while waiting for the hunt to come back so you can have lunch; over a nice dress when you're at someone else's country house at nighttime and you've gone outside with a friend so they can have a cigarette and complain to you about other people inside. At least, those have been my uses. Not sure what the American uses are to be honest.

Well you bought it...

Bristol Farms is not what it may suggest.

So I have come to realize that maybe the state is trying to reopen again because they are broke and need to stop paying so many unemployment benefits. I know I have followed this quite a bit but the CA UI system has been rife with fraud.

But yes, the EDD is a mess. Many people have been defrauded by criminal gangs, often running out of jails/prisons. A system that wasn't super to begin with got overwhelmed when people lost their jobs en masse.

However, we are moving out of the stay at home because we met the metrics the state and county set months ago.

outdoor dining will open again as well as hairdressers, nail salons, etc. with modifications. We can have small (3 household) gatherings again outside. We earned this

No; it was taken by authoritarian fiat by elites who were our Betters.  These were and are the rights of all free Americans.  By now, too many of us are too used to groveling in front of tyrants with, "Please, my liege and master... may I have a crust for my supper?"

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Insulting. Sorry. Not funny at all. We have been suffering and we worked hard as a state to get here. My sister and her boyfriend have it right now. My husband's boss has it right now. Why? Because people were earlier ignoring what was common sense. The more contagious form of the virus is here, and my sister and her boyfriend genuinely have no idea how they got it. They're going to be fine, thanks, we hope.

All the best, sincerely, to your family and the boss, but viruses are gonna virus regardless of what anyone does, and nothing ordered by authoritarians takes precedence over Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

I agree with both of you and whats funny is the zero sum approach I see, to me, hearkens to other value issues like abortion where people don't really need to give up anything, and abandoning the part of the approach that caters to polarization/wedges easily results in a near infinite amount of ideas and an outcome far better than any zero sum scenario given. The barrier to it is artificial.

I think this is happening in a few states. Kind of the opposite effect of Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is not as much that people are doing in January in many places.

Michigan new cases actually peaked at Thanksgiving and have been going down since.

Mayor of Denver comes immediately to mind.
