Yes I carry my Greencard with me all the time as it is a requirement of being a LPR.... before I got my Greencard I carried my State DL and my EAD.... I never carried my passport or I-94 as it was expired... and that could cause more confusion than not carrying it ....

THat's exactly why I am hesitant about carrying mine..I don't want to cause more confusion with the i-94 being expired..also..I wouldn't have an EADif I wasn't a pending LPR...

The expired I-94 wont be a problem if you have NOA-1 for the AOS, shows AOS pending.

But do you carry it with you?

In reality, you don't have to carry passport and/or greencard with you to take the US domestic trip.

Most people will be happy with US driver license.

But according to laws, all foreigners including permanent residents should carry passport (and Green Card) with themself always.

It is same thing as AR-11 stuff.

All permanent resident should report their address change within 10 days, but in reality, people and government ignored it for a while until Sep. 11 happened.

Then US CIS is trying to enforce it, but who knows?

Yes, if you are concerned to follow the law, you have to carry passport (unexpired), and greencard (or other proof from US CIS such as I-797 approval notice) with you always.

But in reality, it's very rare to ask the passport after showing US driver license.

You are wrong..... a Greencard holder is not required to carry a passport with them at all times.... they are however required to carry their Greencard at all times....
