My fiancé lives in Canada, but he's not a Canadian citizen (he's Jamaican). He applied for his Canadian PR (permanent residency) January 2020, but it is still processing. We have not seen each other since January 2020 due to the border closure, and since he is not a Canadian citizen, we cannot visit each other (Canada only allows visitors who are related to a citizen or are in long-term relationships with citizens). Unfortunately he also cannot fly to the U.S. because he only has a work visa in Canada and he's afraid he wouldn't be allowed back in to Canada should he leave.

I hope his pending Canadian PR application does not confuse/interfere with our pending K1. Should you have any knowledge on this topic, please let me know. I appreciate this message board and have found some anxiety-reducing posts.  Thank you for sharing all the information you've uncovered and experienced.  Good luck to all.
