Hey @Hawk Riders - can you please add me to the Google Doc? thanks :)

Please clarify your status with respect to this report from last month:

"Hey VisaJourney Friends!

I am the principal applicant. I live between Toronto and Ireland, and I work for a Canadian Company. I am thinking about having my case transferred to Montreal from Dublin, because Dublin is nowhere near to processing visas, even for emergencies. We were approved for I-130 & USCIS expedites because of the death of my father in law. I am currently at the NVC. Is it worth me trying to expedite and get to Montreal instead of Dublin, which wont be opening until at least May? Or are Montreal mean with their expedites? Let me know what you think.

Thanks everyone! "

I’m trying to find info on how I can follow up on where my SSN/green card are at. POE was Feb 22. I checked uscis.gov and it says payment received. Is there somewhere else I should be looking/contacting for my SSN?

thank you :)

My POE was Feb 18 and status changed to "being produced" on Feb 27. From reading this forum and the FAQ sometimes people get their GC in like 2 weeks and sometimes it takes a few months. There's a thingy in the FAQ (After POE section) that says how to follow up on it, but suggests to do so only after 120 days. As others have said our visas in our passport act as a GC until then!

SSN I'm also in more of a hurry to get because I'd like to get started on my long list of things I can't do until I have an SSN :p.  I'm going to check with the office later this week.

The GC can be tracked https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do once there is a tracking number it will show on here.

You will have to call Social Security to get an update. They will only tell you if it was processed or not and what date, they don't have mailing info. We didn't find them to be very co-operative, you may have better luck. If it's processed it could take 3-4 weeks to get to you, at least my husband's did.

Thank you!

The 22nd wasn't that long ago.  Give it a bit more time.

Your I-551 serves as proof of status and allows you to work, if that is your concern.  Its in the I-9 instructions (many HR personnel don't realize this).

Thank you! I knew it takes time but just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything on how to check on it if need be.

Im in quarantine for a few more days and was trying to apply to jobs online but they all require the last 4 digits of the SSN to complete applications so as much as they say you don’t need the card to work, you kind of do need it lol

@Hawk Riders I'm new to Visa Journey. Currently waiting for my interview in Montreal. How do I get set up on your spreadsheet?

You've already completed your timeline; good job! So, all you needed to do was ask :)

First, I wanna say I’m so freaking jealous...Lihue! My heart wishes to be back in HI and we want to come to Kaua’i something fierce, but it ain’t happening with the bubble resorts at the moment!

You are not required to provide the last 4 digits, even though it may ask. There are 10,000 possible combinations for those last 4, so it provides little relevant information. Some people make up a fake one if the application won’t go through (0001). The organization you have been hired by and the IRS should really be the only ones who require this information. I get it - everyone asks, but you should still be able to apply for jobs regardless.

I received my passport back today! Less than a week from my interview (2/24/21)! Now I have until August 1st to cross the border and activate it!

Hi guys,

My wife's medical exam was on Feb 10, 2021 at Medisys and interview was on Feb 22, 2021 at US consulate Montreal. Unfortunately, her medical exam didn't reach the consulate before the interview and hence she was given a refusal. Medisys confirmed on 23rd that they sent her medical to the consulate. Now just waiting on the status to change from refused to issued. Anyone who experienced this recently, how long did it take to get the passport?

Thanks

Hi Guys! I just got my USCIS approval and am now in the process of uploading my documents for NVC. I'm a Canadian citizen and have been living in Canada since the age of 17. I'm being asked to upload all police certificates for countries I have lived 6 months or more which would not only include Canada but India as well as I was living there from the age of 16-17. When I look at the type of police certificate needed from the US govt website it is not possible for Foreign nationals applying outside of India to obtain a police certificate which contradicts the requirement. Has anyone run into this issue or know what needs to be done?

I received mine too today! Congrats :) I'm trying to pay the fee but it might be too early as it hasn't even been 5 bus. days since my interview. Did you have this problem too?

We received our passport back today also.  I was having some issues with the pay.gov site that it redirects you to in order to make the actual payment but it eventually let me pay the fees.

Oh okay good to know, thanks! I'll try again a little later :) I have one extra digit in my case # than what it allows me to input (10 digits vs 9) so not sure if that's an issue. I just didn't put in the last digit.
