We DQ'd Aug 11, and with the Counsul General's last video where she said NVC are processing March and April dates, I'm really hoping another release of IL this month to fill in April.

I’m starting to think that they can fill up an entire months worth of interviews just from people who were DQ August 11. Everywhere I look whether it be here or Reddit or Facebook absolutely everybody, myself included, seems to have been DQ on August 11. Hopefully they’re able to fit all of us into April for interviews lol.

My Interview was Feb 10, and I've still yet to receive an email with a tracking number. It's been 1 week. The status updated on Tuesday to the Issued - "Final Processing...."  I chose the courier option as well.

Not a happy camper right now...

Same boat as far as when we were updated to final processing. Day 3 now of waiting for tracking number. I feel like it's going to be Friday. No particular reason just thats a pattern I've noticed.

How come they go through additional processing? My husband is a  canadian PR, and im a dual citizen- i came here last NOV when he got his pR to spend time with him and so he could see his son. My parents have a business which hell be working at when he arrives in the USA My father is the co sponsor. I am a teacher and am on the substitute list at a few schools there, i have a letter from the school district stating that.

Any other suggestions? Im so nervous I dont want him to go into AP

This is a standard practice if the beneficiary is a citizen of another country. They run additional background checks and unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it.

I'm in the same boat (not a Canadian citizen) and I've been following the comments, so far almost every case (if not all of them) of people who post here that are not Canadian citizens go through AP. I've actually had it done for my B1/B2 visa back in the day so I don't think it's unique to CR-1/IR-1.

Hang in there! assuming his name doesn't show up in the background checks it should *hopefully* go smoothly. the waiting game is awful but you're getting there!

Yeah but their regular procedure has kind’ve gone out the window several times over. I’m not in the DQ list for the next batch but my mental health is so bad over all of this I have come to need the dates to prove that I’m not just stagnant and living in Groundhog Day and now I don’t even have dates to countdown to or hope for. So really I have no clue what’s going on, and I just feel a hopelessness having no dates to look forward to, mark off on a calendar, or countdown to. Even if it’s not me moving, it shows that’s something is happening. Now nothing is moving 🙂

When did you get DQ though. You can kind of estimate based on that like everybody on here is doing. Then you have something to look forward to

I have another question from the group - I have a civil case pending in BC supreme court - basically I was involved in a fender bender in 2019 and the party sued me for damages in 2020. My insurance company is dealing with it, but I was wondering if I need to disclose anything to the CO during interview regarding this? As per my understanding they ask for previous convictions but since this is a civil matter I don't think there are any convocations but settlement for damage. Let me know if anyone has experience with this. Might good for FAQ's aswell.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this situation? Thank you!

Things are definitely moving for CR1/IR1. It's just the way it's always been and in fact they are fitting in more DQ dates than ever. I am tracking both CR1 and K1 just to compare and CR1 are getting caught up really quickly. It's just the way it is for CR1/IR1 that they get interview letters only once a month for the entire following month and then it's silent for the rest of the month. They will come to you. I've never seen where CR1 applicants get interview letter twice in a month.

Here's hoping that with Quebec businesses being able to open up and increase indoor numbers, there can be more interviews scheduled (DQ Sept 1 here). My husband is in Houston and I feel powerless because I can't go to help him right now, and the COVID restrictions don't help. At this point, I guess there is no point in paying to expedite, is there? Would they accept "devastating national crisis" as a reason to expedite anyway? Much love to all of you whose families are in Texas ❤️

It doesnt cost anything to send a request to expedite - you just send an email to the NVC with your case number and a letter with supporting documents. We are all going through the crisis so I highly doubt that is going to work... overall, these requests rarely get approved and I really dont think it will in this case. We also tried to have ours expedited. There is no harm in trying though.

Thanks for the info. I don't know if there's even a point to expedite if my Priority Date is January 28, 2020 and my DQ date is September 1, 2020. By the time they would read and process it, it will probably be time to schedule the September interviews anyway. I'm not even sure what I would provide for supporting documents, other than the water bill from the pipes bursting in our house or every single news and government release about the devastation in Texas. Those probably won't count.

From my understanding, expedite requests get approved within days. If you dont get an approval or an answer within a couple days after sending the request, that means its not approved (correct me if Im wrong). People even try to get their congressmen involved in their expedite letters and that doesnt even work so I think its a waste of time and money and lawyers giving you false hope to make $. My lawyer didnt charge us but I know many charge $ for these. But you never know, it might be your lucky day so it doesnt hurt sending it. Just explain you and your husbands hardship and why you should have your case expedited. You should focus on the hardship that the Petitioner aka the US citizen is experiencing rather than the beneficiary aka us as they dont really care about us lol. But yeah, national crisis such as corvid or the Texas devastation probably wont work because many people are going through that so I would focus on the other hardships you are experiencing...

Expedite requests can take a while to receive a response - many folks wait longer than a few days. Even if your request for expedite is denied, they will let you know by email.

I crossed at the Peace Arch border crossing in BC yesterday to activate my visa! Here’s my experience:

- Rented a minivan from Avis for $186 CAD for a 24-hour rental with drop-off anywhere in Seattle.
- The CBP officer at the first window asked me what I was bringing with me, I presented my itemized list and she asked a few clarifying questions about produce/seeds/narcotics etc.
- I was sent to secondary to process my visa and a second officer came up to me after about 10 minutes, took my passport and orange slip given by the first officer, and told me to sit tight and stay comfortable

- The officer came back about 20 minutes later and handed back my passport with the IR-1 stamp placed in it, congratulated me and recognized how long I must have been waiting for this whole immigration process to end, at which point I started bawling 😅

I know some folks have had to go inside recently to finish the processing and pay the $6 fee for the I-94 but I was not asked to do so. The whole process was painless and I was so thrilled to finally be able to use a land crossing again to enter the US after having to fly when visiting over the past year! Still has not set in that this isn’t just another one-month visit and that I’m here for good - AHHHH! It’s safe to say that I haven’t slept as well as I did last night in a long, long time.

I’ll keep you all updated on the arrival of my SSN and permanent green card. Sending best wishes to all who have interviews in the coming weeks!  ❤️

Are you coming back to Canada? As there are so many restrictions now even for border crossings. I too was able to activate my visa but just turned back before all the changes happened.
