Was he given a 221(g) letter, or a welcome to the US letter? It doesn't sound as thought the CO said "denied." Were the medical exam results received?

Medical was received by consulate . My husband  received the 221(g) letter with a check mark saying additional processing . The officer didn’t tell him that the case was denied. He kept the passport and said it will take about weeks for additional processing.

Not a problem also, from previous messages here I have noticed sometimes cases do go in additional processing. But it goes away after sometime and gets approved. Wishing you the best.

Thank you

That's strange, if the medical was received on time too. Is your husband Canadian citizen? Sometimes, I have heard that when someone is a PR of Canada but not citizen, there is additional processing required.

He is not a Canadian citizen nor does he have a PR.

Ok hang in there then, they might just need to do a little extra background check on their behalf. I have heard about this for foreign nationals. Sending you the best wishes for approval soon. Did his interview go well as in he answered all the questions asked and he never felt like the consulate asked him for a document that he didn't have, or a question that he didn't have answer to?

His interview went well and he answered all the questions . At the end the officer also said have a good trip to US. I guess they’re just gonna do extra background check as he has a Pakistani passport. Fingers crossed. Hope he gets his approval soon. Thank you

Oh I see. Yea, they will probably just check to see if his name doesn't match on the blacklisted record and all that. Should be fine. ...fingers crossed for you. Good luck and do post when it gets approved. :)

Hello All,

I just had my interview this morning and I was APPROVED!

Interview details which may help anyone:

Arrived and went through security. The security guard told me to go to window 6 on the first floor. Got there but there was no-one, I had to wait for almost 10mins before a man came and collected my passport. After waiting for about 45mins, my name was called to go to another window where a lady collected my Birth Certificate, Police Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Tax documents (I gave 1040, W2 2019 and 2020 because I didn't have 2019 transcripts). Something to note, I got another Canada PCC with 'other details'  because the one I had before had sub-type 'Non-Certified Criminal Information'. The lady said they were same and the only difference was the dates on the certificates! lol! So, I guess they accept both! Also, she could find/view some of the documents I had scanned into CEAC, so she said they were going to rescan them.

Thereafter, I waited for maybe 20mins and then was called up for main interview. Questions asked includes:

1. Name of spouse

2. Confirm Address

3. If I got the domestic violence pamphlet and if I had any questions about it

4. How and where we met

5. Where we got married and who was at the wedding

6. Do either of us have children. Ages of the children and how many are below 21yrs

7. What my spouse does for work

8.State where spouse lives

9. If I have ever been arrested or had any problems with the law

At the end, he said he had just approved my visa and gave me the welcome to America paper and information on how to track my passport. He said it may take 2weeks to get my passport but when I checked CEAC back to the hotel, it already shows 'Issued'.

Thanks to everyone on the group for all your postings. They were really helpful in this journey. I hope someone finds my interview details helpful too. Please do ask any questions or clarification as needed. Goodluck to everyone!

Congratulations! That's mad quick! Happy to hear and hope you get your passport back soon!

Update: Email for passport return by Purolator sent on Friday, Feb 12

Passport with visa arrived in hand today, Feb 17.

My Interview was Feb 10, and I've still yet to receive an email with a tracking number. It's been 1 week. The status updated on Tuesday to the Issued - "Final Processing...."  I chose the courier option as well.

Not a happy camper right now...

It took me 2 additional days to get the tracking info after my case status said "Issued - final processing" so it seems you're within the current normal wait time for processing. Almost there!

How come they go through additional processing? My husband is a  canadian PR, and im a dual citizen- i came here last NOV when he got his pR to spend time with him and so he could see his son. My parents have a business which hell be working at when he arrives in the USA My father is the co sponsor. I am a teacher and am on the substitute list at a few schools there, i have a letter from the school district stating that.

Any other suggestions? Im so nervous I dont want him to go into AP

So like- do you guys think that’s it for Feb? Like we aren’t getting anything else this month at all? I know a batch went out Feb 4 but still like... disappointing. I find myself really needing the rounds of letters to feel like I’m not just miserable in limbo but here I am I guess.

When did you get DQ
I asked that question before too: I think this is it for Feb but I feel like things really picked up lately and are moving at a good pace and I dont foresee any consulate lockdowns which is good news. Fingers crossed

We DQ'd Aug 11, and with the Counsul General's last video where she said NVC are processing March and April dates, I'm really hoping another release of IL this month to fill in April.
