This might be a dumb question, but if we're doing POE at an airport, then do we need to bring a form listing the possessions we've packed? I plan on bringing a few large suitcases with me on my first POE flight, and getting the rest of my stuff shipped later this year. The FAQ mentions only land borders re. preparing a list of your items.

One other question: should we bring all the documents we brought to our interview so that it's handy during the POE? I mean the tax returns, proof of relationship, marriage certificate, that stuff. I'll bring mine but I don't know if it's okay for me to put it in my checked luggage, or if I'll need to have it handy in my carry-on bag at immigration.

Hello!
I have a quick question regarding the curfew in Montreal. Those of you who have had your interviews did you run into any trouble because of the imposed curfew? Is there anything that I need to be aware of for my upcoming interview in March?

Thank you!

I’m just leaving Montreal now and I had no issues with the curfew. I landed and took an Uber to my hotel and ordered food to my room. Had to go to the street to get it from the delivery person but it wasn’t as if police were patrolling or anything like that.

They actually are, police down the block from my hotel rolled up to a couple that was walking and grilled them for a while.  Totally fine to jump across the street to meet a delivery person, I'm sure, and the front desk person at my hotel said it was fine to go outside to smoke, which was an interesting tidbit to offer since I hadn't asked and don't smoke haha

Wow good to know, I didn’t see anything like that but better to be on the safe side for sure if it is happening

I did my POE at YVR in November and completely forgot to list my possessions but it didn't matter since I wasn't asked for it. I also wasn't asked for any of my interview documents (I would still recommend putting them in your carry on as nothing important should go in checked baggage) or my x-ray CD even though Dr. Cheema told me to have it on hand. All I needed was my passport and my hands (they took fingerprints). Hope that helps!

Listen, my "Welcome to the USA" letter clearly states that the x-ray is an *important record of your physical condition at the time of the medical examination* and suggests that I should keep it forever and ever perhaps wrapped in red velvet.

Actually funnily enough I read that paragraph carefully for the first time just now and it clearly says that you don't need to bring the x-ray to the POE.  I skimmed over it like "yeah yeah everyone knows you need to bring the x-ray CD" and yet it says right here that you just want to have the x-ray for your own medical record going forward, and "you do not need to hand-carry the x-ray image for presentation at the port of entry".  Or my included vaccination records, presumably.  Or the assurance that I don't have any sexy diseases.

Hi, I have a quick question concerning an expedite request. Does NVC have to review it before sending it to the consulate or that email basically is saying that they've received it and will send to the consulate right away ? The expedite was for my wife's medical condition. Liver disease with a liver tumor as big as an avocado with possible conversion for cancer and need constant monitoring and test. Doctor wrote a note saying all this and that my presence is required by her side for all of this etc.

Thank you for your answers and congrtas to all who got approved lately and had their letters. DQ Novembee 18th here

Yes the request still has to be reviewed but I believe either the NVC will reach out to Montreal for their decision or they might have you contact Montreal directly. Either way it is not the NVC that decides. Montreal doesn't approve expedites with much regularity even when they are clearly warranted so I wouldn't consider it approved yet. Hopefully you'll hear back with their decision soon!
