Yes same. And flights from Regina are eve more because we don’t have direct to Montreal. And it seems like even if I went to Montreal a week earlier than my interview it might still not get there in time, so then I’ll have spent hundreds of more dollars for nothing.. I don’t know. It’s a really hard decision

So I had my medical on Tues, and I just got my confirmation email today that it's been sent to the consulate!

Thank you for sharing this with us. It's not often that people reschedule and as far as I know your experience will be the first one post-covid and will be helpful for many. I hope the medical procedure goes well!

Thank you very much for the well wishes! If anyone has any question(s) they're welcome to message me :)

Forgive my ignorance but why are you guys delaying your medical till the last minute? Dont they usually give you a months lead time between IL and appointment?

I had 26 days to sort out flights, accommodation and medical from the time I received my interview letter.  It was me and my 2 kids, so logistics were even more challenging.

This is important to keep in mind in covid times with the quarantine rules constantly changing.

Hello, just wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as me and looking for guidance, I apologize if this information is somewhere obvious and maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

I had my first interview March 2020 and was denied. Had to file i-601 and it just got approved. Does anyone know what happens next?

I had my medical today with Dr Cheema in Surrey. Things went smooth, nice safe office, and the doctor was really good. I have a medical history 😛 so it took a little while extra, but not too long.

Important note about the blood test at LifeLabs: there are signs at the lab saying that they're appointment-only now. If you're booking a medical with Dr Cheema you'll definitely want to go to LifeLabs' site and schedule an appointment for 1.5-2 hours after your exam. I had already scheduled mine for 2 hours after my exam so I was totally OK.

X-Ray place isn't really obvious from the street so rely on a map app. You have to park behind the building -- it says it's pay parking, but the machine gives you an option for "1 HOUR - FREE". X-ray place was fun fast and easy. Well, fast and easy.

Now it's hoping my results make it to Montreal by next Wednesday. I would have booked the medical earlier but I was in the US when I got my IL, then stayed 2 more days for my stepson's birthday, then quarantine until yesterday.

If LifeLabs is now by appointment only how did you book the blood test ahead of time to ensure you had an appointment?

I am going to see Dr. Cheema on Feb. 16 and want to be sure I am avoiding any issues or delays.

You book your own LifeLabs appointment.  Doctors are not involved in booking any of your medical tests.  My GP loves to send me for a heap o' blood tests every time she sees me, so when I have an appointment with her I'll prebook a LifeLabs appointment for that same day or the next morning.  When you book the appointment, you're just reserving a time slot for yourself, no other details of your visit, and you provide the medical requisition for the tests required at that time.  In this case, right after I booked with Dr Cheema several weeks ago, I went on the LifeLabs site and booked a blood test slot for 2 hours after the exam time.  You gotta book over a week in advance because the appointments fill up quickly, so I'd advise booking a slot at that LifeLabs now (I believe it's 8425 120 St, Delta BC).

Even if they were doing walk-ins this is a good idea IMO because it avoids going and having an unknown wait time that is typically at least an hour.

anyone know why or run into this issue? lifelabs>ehealth profile registration will not allow our personal address province of AB. looks like most provinces are on the drop down except AB. Its a mandatory field.

I ended up calling making the appointment. I guess it was bc we aren’t BC residents

You just called the 1-855 number to book the appointment?  I was trying to register as well and noticed AB was missing as well.
