Congratulations to everyone who got in for March! My DQ date is September 1 with PD of January 28 so I am hoping I'll be in May. And I have another question which maybe some of you can answer. We were DQ'd with an i-864 in which my husband's income was too low but his asset holdings were adequate. To double insure that things would go well, we uploaded an i-864A with an additional sponsor back in December (so long after the DQ). When I last checked CEAC, the i-864A was still sitting in the file with the status of "SUBMITTED". Does that mean they aren't going to go back to the file and review the document now that we are sitting in DQ, or are they not going to review anything new at all, or will they review the i-864A and advise via CEAC prior to the interview? I have all of the original documents to bring with me to the interview. Thanks!

Woo! We are September 1 as well.

When you went through Medisys, did you do that before or after your interview?  If before, how long before and did they have it completed before your interview?

Before.  This was also when Medisys used to make you pick up your results from office to take a packet, in hand, to the consulate, which took 4 days in our case (medical on a Tuesday, results picked up Friday).  They do it digitally now as far as I am aware.  If you call Medisys, just tell them your interview date and they try to get you in within the required time frame.  We had 3 medicals that they had to do, so she jammed us all in.

I’m one of the lucky who received the letter today, interview date March 12. My passport expires 3 months after the interview and I just learned it has to be 6 months. I’ve been holding of since all my green card submissions have to old passport, and since I’m not from Canada I can have it done easily, I’m not sure the local embassy can have my new one done in time.

Has anyone else had experience with this and what did you do?

#notanexpert

I suspect you would be put into AP until the new one arrives, and then have to send it separately to the consulate, if it isn't ready in time...

Hi - further to criminal record check question - this is what mine says - in photo  - I was reading elsewhere and it was stated ‘OTHER’ is accepted but ‘For Non Certified Criminal Information’  is preferred.  Really having a hard time getting a straight answer about this.  Anyone else have a certificate with the same wording on it as the one I have? My presumption was to bring all documents uploaded during the DS260 process, which includes this criminal record check that I have.

IIRC some people in the last thread had that type denied and then were in AP until the previously-correct "other" was obtained.

Thank you - is there a way to ensure it will say OTHER when getting a new one?

It all has to do with the boxes you or the Commissaires or ___ check on the submission to RCMP. Showing the fingerprint tech the images from the spreadsheet with the correct ones as a guide could help. And read over the FAQ.

I’m going to get it redone in an hour!   Will show them the letter I have, the example with OTHER, the notations under the FAQS, along with the page from the actual government site.  Better to be safe than sorry!  Thanks again.

We got our interview letter today!

Dq June 18th,

IL March 12th!!! Sooo excited!

I’m in the same boat (in Saskatchewan) my interview is on a Friday though so I’ve  been thinking of going on Monday to get medical and have it sent in time. Anyone who can speak to whether their medical got sent from Medysis in time for the interview? I feel like if there’s no chance, I’ll just go like wed or Thursday and not spend all that money on a hotel.

Hey - Medysis is not open on Mondays.  My medical was Tuesday, January 5th, and was mailed to the consulate Wednesday January 13th.  My interview was on Monday Jan 11th, so obviously did not make it to the consulate in time.

Hope this is helpful.

That's exactly what I did when I requested a new one last month as my previous one had expired, and the RCMP office had no issue with understanding or ensuring I would receive one with subtype "other". Also, you may find that some offices still use the old name for the overall application type (e.g. Privacy Act vs the new name: Criminal Record Check for Personal Use), but you can be assured that your certificate will state the new application name type when it's delivered to you. Good luck!

I'm originally from SK ;)  Our interview was Monday Mar. 9 last year.  We did our medicals on Tuesday, Mar. 3.  I'd call and ask Medisys if you did it on the 9th, if it would be ready.  @Tofu were you just in this last batch?  Were you one of the people that was suffering along with Medisys when their phones went down?

We didn't want to have to stay over the weekend in Montreal just because the time of year really sucks...it would have been better if the Biodome would have been open, but it wasn't - it was still under renovation.  But, there were 3 of us and it would have been hella pricey to fly back and forth and this was when Medisys was still handing out physical packets.  I haven't understood why they were so slow to go digital!  Guess that's one good thing about covid!

This is helpful! So the consulate did get your medical pretty quickly then?

Also got my interview date this morning! For Mar 26. DQ was July 10. Does my criminal record check need to be within 6 months old or 12 months?

Noo! I was lucky! I called Dec 11 when i received my letter and got my appointment right away..

However, in order to have my results guaranteed for my Jan 11 interview, I would have had to have done my medical Dec 23.  There were no flights home before Christmas, and due to work commitments, was unable to stay from Dec 23 - Jan 12.

Yes!

Jan 5 - medical

Jan 11 - interview

Jan 13 - medical results sent

Jan 21 - Issued "AP"

Jan 28 - Issued "Final Processing"

Jan 29 - Tracking number received

Feb 1 - Visa in Hand
