Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the medical before the interview so you can get any vaccines you may miss that are required? I was under the assumption that they do it at the appointment if so.

I called the doctor's office where I plan to get my medical done, and I was told they don't offer vaccination shots on the spot.

Unless you know for sure the doctor who will do your medical can give you any missing shots on the spot, probably it's a good idea to get them done in advance.

I got a form signed by the doctor who gave me shots, confirming that I'm vaccinated for all three. I'm going to take this form with me to the medical so that I don't have to worry about it.

They issued ILs on 18th in Nov last year, so let's hope ILs will be out on Mon or Tues next week. If they don't issue ILs by Tues 18th, there must be something seriously wrong happening at the consulate.

They say interviews are supposed to be scheduled 1 month in advance, but clearly they haven't been giving 1 month.  I'm fine with that, as long as they continue to interview. If I have 10 days before the interview, I will figure things out to make it happen. Just give me an interview.

Ooh I see. My wife has all hers but she will need a tetanus shot because her last one was over 10 years ago.

From what I read on dr Cheema's website, they expect us to bring all the vaccine document papers

from childhood or titer test results OR recent vaccine shot records if you can not provide them.

It seems they are pretty strict about it. They even explained how you can get titer test if

you don't have vaccine record from childhood. For the chicken pox, they said they would just accept

your verbal declaration of having the decease as a kid which I like.

Dr. Lee's website indicates 2 doses, and I thought it's in line with FAQ, so I'm assuming I need 2 doses. Better be safe than sorry.

MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) - record of 2 vaccinations, proof of immunity, or recent (within 1 month) booster ( MMR not required if born in 1956 or earlier)

Very wise to be honest. Just got my MMR2 jab about an hour ago. If anyone is in the BC lower mainland and needs walk-in vaccinations, Barnet Pharmacy have been very good for me. :)

Just checked and it’s still at NVC

side note: this week and especially today has been so overwhelming emotional. The flood gates opened today and I cried in despair and frustration and I think it helped a bit. We all need that once in a while to remind us of what normal feels like. You are all troopers and I appreciate the support you all provide during this. Comforting to know we are not alone

Yeah, I get what you mean about today being overwhelming, the floodgates haven't really been opened, though it was close...moreover just exhausted from the stress. I'm gonna treat myself to some TLC Pizza which should help. As painful as it is, we are all so darn close now. Just gotta hold out just a little bit more and this nightmare will be over. :)

I am moving to US from YVR. Now wondering when I check in the airline counter, I need to mention and show the US visa to them?

I would think you would only need to mention it to the US Border agents, not the airline staff

So I emailed NVC like two weeks ago and got the canned “you are now documentarily qualified” email in response instead of an answer to my question- but I did notice in their canned response they mentioned that interviews are “scheduled one month in advance”.

so I replied with the following:

so I doubt I’ll get a response but I can’t suffer another canned auto-reply that doesn’t talk about any of the questions I had.

I'm really not okay with this. If they came out and said okay we'll release the interviews rn but you don't get to be in it I would say yes because I JUST need this OVER. I'm SO upset and hurt.

OH ALSO- I called Visa Services and they ran me around in circles for like 10 minutes, telling me I just had to wait and I was like yeah I know- I'm asking about if there is ANYTHING for June. Like anything. 40 people haven't heard anything. Anyways, she pulled PSHHH PSSSS YOURE BREAKING UP ON ME BYE and hung up on ME :)

You actually got hung up on 😬😬🤣 That is professional. I got through to the Visa Unit too - the man was nice but I also felt like the conversation was going in circles. The bottom line is they do not care how long we wait and that we are separated from our spouses for an x amount of time. To them, this is a job like any other with focus on detecting fraud and acting in the interests of their country. Sure, some might be sympathetic to our situation and I am sure they wouldnt want to be in our shoes but at the end of the day they know they dont owe us anything really and providing speedy and transparent services definitely isnt in their job description.

I am curious if folks here who havent seen their spouses in months, why cant your U.S. petitioner fly to Buffalo/border and then take a cab to your home? Also, people are allowed to leave before their 14 day quarantine is over as long as they go directly to U.S. via land border. Sorry, I just want to inform folks, and also see if I am missing something obvious here. I am sure we all miss our spouses a lot. Hope this helps someone or educates me on why this not viable? Thanks!

I don't think this is a good option, because if you break the quarantine and they found out, they will not let you in Canada again cuz you broke the quarantine the fist time. So, this is not a good idea if things continue to take long and you have to come back to see your spouse. I did quarantine before and I did the PCR twice and they checked on me twice also, the last time was a day before my quarantine ends.

you may want to look in to this, but officially you are allowed to leave before your quarantine ends, as long as you leave via land border in a private vehicle (taxi is allowed as a private vehicle). Many folks are doing this. I know people who have entered and left before 14 day period several times.
