Sorry to keep adding questions, but if I don't have a record of immunization to bring to the medical exam, what should I do?

I might have had these vaccinations when I was little back in Japan, but I don't have a record and it was a few decades ago...

Can a doctor who performs the medical exam give me these shots on the spot?

1. Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td/Tdap) (Must have had done in last 10 years)

2. MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

3. Varicella (Chicken Pox) (If had Chicken Pox before not needed)

4. Flu Shot (Nov-March only, though Dr. Cheema in Surrey notes that it is needed from October-February)*

I highly recommend you to check the doctor's site if they do it or not. But it is good to have a blood test which can provide the antibodies and if you are immune you don't have to take the all the shots. Like MMR, and Varicella. As fo the Tetanus- Dephteria is every 10 year boost shot. If you don't have a record of it, it should be given during the exam if they have it.

Some Doctors do offer the vaccines, other do not. I had to go the the Health Unit to get my youngest the HepB because in Canada they don't give it until 7th grade. He was only in Third. I had to pay out of pocket because it was not within the normal schedule.

Since you don't have your records if you have time go to your family doctor and ask for a Titers test. That will tell you want antibodies you have and if you need any.

@Shumai84 You can also request your immunization record from your public health unit.

i grew up with a yellow card and then just had a bunch of papers, so I submitted what I had to them and got an EMR back. It said I had missed my Hep A+B shots, so I asked my family doctor about it and she ordered a simple blood test to check for antibodies. I would assume that you can do the same thing if you’re unsure and, if you don’t have the information before the interview, that the doctor there will run a test for it anyways.

Keep in mind, doctor's wont give you vaccines within 2-4 weeks of getting the COVID-19 vaccine. I just got my first COVID shot and now have to wait before I can get my others, which is a pain. Keep that in your timeline, just in case :)

We did a titer test and got the rest of the missing shots. It's also cheaper then doing it at the medical. We want to be ready and don't want any delays with the IR1.

Big time!  On another note looks like no IL today.

They sure know how to torture us,

I couldn’t sleep for the last few nights, hoping to get an email. But, nope, none for me!

Not gonna lie, the lack of a when, or if they're sending out IL's this month is the worst part of this. I'm completely unable to plan, I've had to tell my boss that I'm gonna need time off at some 'undetermined point in time' because the US foreign service is run by a bunch of sadists. Grumble grumble...

Sleeping has been very difficult lately, so has doing my job. Not fun at all.

I have been wearing a sleep tracker thing and the only day of the week I actually sleep is Saturday lately because I know for sure they don’t work Saturday or Sunday.

Sunday night through Friday I’m a mess. I am up til 4 am and then get up at 6. How am I alive lol? I know people say to just go about their lives but idk how many of you have been as impacted by COVID as I have, but I lost my FT job and housing so I’m just here in my moms basement (because why sign another lease when I thought I was close to leaving) waiting and it’s brutal.

Oh dear, I genuinely feel for you that you're unable to take your mind off this by working. Literally my work is kinda keeping me sane lol, so I can definitely understand that with all this stress it's driving you nuts. x.x Really hope you're able to get into this batch.

Also I was wondering if anyone would be interested in an LGBT+ specific group chat? I’ve chatted with a few people individually, so I thought I would ask if there was interest in connecting with each other. I know there are some more sensitive topics that affect us a little different that people may want to talk about, but it’s not easy to do so on a public forum.

You can DM me if you’re interested, I don’t want anyone to feel they have to out themselves on the public forum. Just a heads up, I’m pretty sure you can’t hide  when in a group chat so you should feel comfortable with others in the chat seeing your screen name.

I feel.ya on this. I'm basically in the same situation living arrangement and job wise. It is so hard to keep occupied, and makes the anxiety worse! I'm lucky to get 5 hours of interrupted sleep. We are so close to the finish line. I hope you are in this next batch as well
