Hey guys,

A quick update. Our visas have been issued yesterday and we received tracking confirmation from Canada post. We had interview on 3rd May.
We had medical exam with Dr Ian Z. On 26th Apr and our results were on time. Their turn around time is a week.

I was approved on Wednesday got tracking number Friday which said expected delivery Wednesday. My passport was at the Post Office in Richmond BC on Monday. Hope that helps.

Hello all, do we get SSN (just the number) at the time of POE ?
or will it be only provided in SSN envelope ?

It will be mailed to you after POE. I received mine 8 days after POE in the mail.

I would expect any day next week. I've seen them go out on Mon, Thurs and Fri. Not sure about Tues and Weds. Window has passed for today I would guess, last time they came out at 10:35am local time.

I remember reading that they would send letters in the early hours like 2am. What I’ve found is there is nothing predictable about this process. I think it’s an old torture trick lol

Certain banks allow you to open up an account with just a proof of US address, no SSN needed. I have an account with Chase that I've had for years now. :) They'll be able to add your SSN to your banking info when you get it.

Awesome! Good to know.

Does POE atleast give us something that we have applied for SSN or no?

Not sure on that one! Probably someone who's gone through it would be able to say.

Also, does anyone happen to know if you need to bring updated/physical US passport format photos of the Petitioner to the Interview, or is it just the US style passport photos of the applicant we need to bring?

Nope, you won't get anything related to your SSN at POE. The only way I know of to get a receipt is to apply in person, but you can't do that if you've asked for it to be automatically sent to you until it's been 3 weeks with no SSN.

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

Got it! Thanks for all the help.

Please excuse my knowledge on this but the rules are changing often so wanted to confirm, if we required to present COVID-19 test result at POE?

No Covid test needed for entry to the US at the land border. Test required prior to departure for travel to the US by air.

Any return to Canada requires a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours at time of arrival.

Just to add to that. For the return to Canada by land the test has to have been done in USA within 72 hours. Most pharmacy's on the US side near the border provide a quick service for those heading to Canada.

I recently received a job offer from the US employer, expecting that my interview will take place soon and I will be crossing the border this summer. Should I disclose this during the interview or upload a scanned offer letter to CEAC website?

I'm already DQ'ed, so I suppose that means I-864 and the supporting financial information we submitted was sufficient to prove that we will be able to support ourselves financially, but I'm not sure if I should disclose this as an additional piece of information. I accepted an offer but obviously it's contingent on my green card and it's not a legally binding employment contract at this stage.

Is there anyone who were in the similar situation?

Apparently K1 letters for June went out on Friday as per a post on the Facebook group. So I can only assume we will be next. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms here!
