I’ll just be happy if we get interviews at this point. Looking like land crossing are going to require hotel stays soon too.

OH NO. Really? It will would so great if they could put out guidelines for people who are fully vaccinated. I was going to cross the land border when the time came. My DQ is Oct 20, so hoping to see some movement next week...

I'm really hoping for that - if they can just get one spreadsheet row more in June than they did in May then my wife will get her interview. That doesn't seem like too much to ask!!

Right! I was hoping be back with my hubbins for June 15th, my bday, but just getting home with him is all I want

Prime minister pretty much said in his news conference that he is happy with the current land border restrictions. It’s only Doug Ford that wants more to be done as he sits at his mothers cottage home in self isolation. Same guy that said not to go to your parents place for Christmas and Easter hahaha

Oh good. Wow I can't believe he is like that! Hopefully he doesn't influence land border to change. It's crazy how US keeps opening up more while Canada (esp Ontario) is constantly going into lockdowns.

Hello, I'm in EB visa who's been in AP for a very long time due to Covid. I was recently contacted by the Consulate to submit a new police record and medical since they expired. I tried to send these documents last month but waited till I heard from the Consulate. I sent the documents earlier this week since I had them all ready. I'm wondering if anyone had sent in additional documents to the Consulate recently and how soon/late their documents were reviewed after they were sent. I was asked to do the same January 2019 and while waiting for my documents to get reviewed, Covid happened and had to wait more than a year till they asked for the same documents again since they expired again.. Thanks!

I think it's up to a 5+ week delay for IR1/CR1 cases. EB is likely a whole different kettle of fish as the consulate is treating them with a different priority.

There are plenty of protests. Managing COVID19 isn’t about freedom, it’s about surviving and helping others survive. The quarantine hotels only stop poor people from travelling, the people who complain the most about their “freedom” are usually the ones who can afford the hotels lol.

People on here just want to be with the ones we love.

It's about freedom in my opinion because forcing people to stay 3 nights in a hotel and pay 2k has nothing to do or very little to do with spreading covid. Since all passengers have mandatory requirements to do a PCR test before boarding a flight and have a negative test result and another Test after 8 days while quarantining in your own home, the risk of testing positive and/or spreading the virus is very very small compared to a simple visit to a Grocery store where nobody is tested and the risk is much higher. Therefore, yes this law is very exaggerated and cruel and I agree it stops the poor from travelling and limit their freedom more than anyone else..

It's not always about freedom even though I get your point... I guess you're ready to move to the land of the Free 🤣🤣

Anyone have experience with having their passport dropped off in Montreal after their interview? I was thinking of getting an Airbnb and getting it delivered there. Or is there a better option?

I would say best option is to choose the Carrier service location closest to your AirBnB and they will notify you once ready for pick up. I dont know how much you can rely on the Airbnb owner when you dont have access always to their mailbox.

Thanks so much for your response! They haven't been processing the EBs for over a year and we're still not a priority, but I think they started processing the ones that've been directly affected by the visa ban that was in effect for the past year.. I'm really hoping that it won't be another 2+ months of wait..

Hi Everyone

Hopefully youre doing good. I have an approved IR1 visa in my passport and currently finishing my notice period at work which is around May 19. It seems like white house is announcing ban from travel from India and since I have an Indian passport (i haven't been to India in last 3 years), do you think this ban will affect me?

Hoping to hear from people in similar situation. Thanks!

It won't affect you but please listen to my advice - if you have a visa - RUN TO THE BORDER. We are living in VERY UNCERTAIN TIMES. If you don't use your visa now, you may get stuck, there could be a new variant etc. Give a shorter notice if you can, or quit right away if you can. Please have your eye on he prize which is reuniting with your spouse in the U.S. Good luck!
