Sorry for this dumb question everyone, but I’m getting conflicting info. Do you have to arrive in Montreal two weeks prior to your interview? Not expecting our appointment til August based on timelines, but New Brunswick’s regulations just changed again and I don’t know if Quebec is following suit.

As of right now if you are coming from Canada you do not have to, there is no quarantine or anything. There is a 8pm curfew.

Hi all,

So does anyone know why they issued so little interviews this month?

cheers.

Maybe a combination of Canada’s May long weekend and Memorial Day in the US? I’m still not sure which holidays they observe.

Another member said their lawyer reached out to ask as well and they said they’re trying to keep windows at 2-4 weeks because of the uncertainty of COVID restrictions and such, but I think it’s more what @Leah123 said- in April for Easter weekend they didn’t book appointments for 10 days around the holiday I think they just don’t schedule things in those weeks.

i also think they’ve started processing other types of visa’s, so we are no longer the priority we once were.

To check USCIS case status for green card production, use an IOE receipt number.

Here's the case status site: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

The form type is Form OS155A

My IOE number says my application is at the Dept. of State.  I created a my.uscis account and did the verification which worked but nothing shows up on my account and the verify button is still there. Does it take a few days for things to work? I activated my visa on April 20 via Peace Arch border crossing. It was not busy so they had like 4 people working on it.

What type of questions do they ask you in secondary?

They just asked the typical border crossing questions. More than 10K cash, any fruit meat veggies, any guns, any prescription drugs, I also got any commercial products, is all of this yours. I imported my vehicle and it was full of my stuff. They also wanted to make sure my US address was correct and told me to make sure I let USCIS know if it was changing. They want to make sure I got my Green Card and SSN. They were very nice.

According to https://ca.usembassy.gov/holiday-calendar/

They get both days off

I registered and then emailed the consulate and asked them to cancel!

Could you share more about your rescheduling experience just to help others in the same boat since there doesnt seem to be a lot of info on the forum about that😟 @chanel167

For example, unfortunately I am going to have to reschedule my upcoming May 12 interview and was told by the Visa Unit that although they empathize with the situation I must first register the interview, miss it and starting May 13 I should be seeing a calendar with the next available dates...

You mentioned your interview was Feb 22, so 2 months ago, so I am just wondering if during this time there werent any available dates and no available dates for the upcoming months or what is going on? If you could tell us more that would be great! Thanks ☺️

Do you know if that changes if you’re coming from the States?

Very much so. If you are travelling from the USA for your interview you should have a really solid plan A and plan B as everything is changing so often
