I crossed into the US yesterday at the border crossing in Montana, was in secondary for about 15-20 minutes very easy and no issues.  All the officers were very pleasant and friendly.

I will provide an update when I receive my cards in the mail.  Its nice to finally be home and reunited with my family, there is no words to describe how good a feeling it was crossing yesterday knowing I would be with my family.

Congrats!

Update on our end - my husband had his interview this morning and got approved. So yayy. But a big thanks to the visa journey friends and special thanks to Hawk Riders.

I also have some what I can call funny story now, not so last Sunday when we discovered this issue. If anyone wants some laugh on a Friday, go ahead and read this. We basically discovered on Sunday night that we didn't have our marriage certificate. It was crazy, as we discovered this while I was doing a mock interview for my husband and I asked to provide marriage certificate, and he gave me marriage license and I said no I cannot accept it. For first u felt he was messing around and then we both got serious when we realized our lawyer never told us anything and our lawyer audited all the docs, so we didn't check docs until much later. Luckily we applied for marriage certificate at 1am on Sunday and asked for urgent service. He received it in Tuesday night. And Wednesday morning was his flight to Montreal. So a bit crazy, but a lesson to learn is to audit your docs yourself and don't rely on lawyers, as they are not much help in this process.

Regarding the interview, my husband was just asked few questions, like who is the petitioner, how did you meet her, when did you get married, where did you get married. What your wife does for living, what you do for living and that's it.

So relieved it's approved. Now we can plan the move.

Good luck to all for the upcoming interviews.

Congrats on your approval! I am so freaking happy for you. You were worried about birth certificate for no reason at all. And to think you were considering rescheduling your interview because of it. Can you remind me what you did for the domicile - did you sign a lease or use a housing arrangement letter from a relative?

Hoping folks here can share update on the RCMP police check NVC is currently expecting? I remember there was a name change from privacy act to something else? Do we still need to provide an explanation of the name change for the check or is NVC now caught up with that? What is the best way to submit the RCMP check to NVC? @Hawk Riders - advice please?

@darth vader, review this thread and the FAQ for useful information and remember all documents going to NVC for IV applications are uploaded through the CEAC portal.

Thank you @Hawk Riders. I am all caught up on the FAQs and thank you so much for maintaining that. Quick follow-ups:

1. I was curious if folks are still getting rejected for the correct police certificate. last time I checked was in January and there was one person who got rejected even after sending the right certificate.

2. Is it advised to preemptively attach the "explanation" using the email screenshot from RCMP available in FAQs to explain how the "correct" certificate differs a bit form what DOS website mentions?

3. I have the below certificate, which I beleive is the correct one based on FAQs, can you please confirm? Although as per DOS website, it doesn't say "RCMP National Repository entire holdings" but just says "National Repository of Criminal Records." Please confirm.

Congrats to everyone who got through their interviews and those that have crossed the border! Don’t forget to go and review the Montréal consulate and POE’s so other members that aren’t a part of this thread can benefit from your experiences.
