I have lawyer representation and after a quick google search I found that the g28 form is for a lawyer to fill out to legally be your representative. I have no idea if my lawyer filled this out and am not too worried as their name is on all the documents and payments provided to uscis and nvc. Have you been dq yet?

Same here. All his information and contact info is on our documents and signed that he helped prepare the forms. It is concerning that this lawyer doesnt know about this form... no disrespect but are you sure you chose a good immigration lawyer. I am asking because I myself came across incompetent ones and heard of notaries who offer immigration help but are not actually lawyers.

Yes I have been DQ'ed and my interview is on April 07. I am asking because my wife updated her address and work and Iwant to upload a new AOS form with the new address and work info. This is the first time I pay attention to it honestly and I am just worried if ai bring the new AOS form on the interview day they would ask for the G28 which I dont have..

Does this mean that your lawyer already filled out this form?

Maybe I am missing something here because if NVC really needs this form they would not accept it I guess and DQ my file..

QUESTION REGARDING PETS:

Hi everyone,

I was originally supposed to fly with my cat from Toronto (YYZ) to California when I made my POE but I wanted to wait to move and settle before I brought him over (he has a bit of anxiety with change). I just found out all pet cargos are currently not operating. I really need my cat here since he is with my family right now.

Does anyone know if my sister comes to the Buffalo border and she waits on the Canada side, I can cross over take my cat and enter back into the USA without the quarantine restriction. I'm sure this is an odd case and no one experienced this but please let me know. Also - I was told I only need a health certificate to enter with my pet, any other documents?

I flew out of Yyz back in nov and there wasdogs on my flight! You may still be able to bring the cat as carry on. You need to check ur flights and see what ones u can take them on it changes every day it seems. The no pets is for big animals not small ones. Also all airlines will require rabies shots of at lest I think 3 months before hand. There also shipping company that will ship them but that a pain.

Well there is no quarantine restriction for the US, so i'm not exactly sure what you mean there. But my husband flew West Jet with our rabbit in the cabin... back around christmas time! The airline actually didn't require anything of him, but i'd call and make sure. We got a health certificate from our Vet a few days before anyways just to be safe. The border didn't ask him anything about our rabbit either and they totally didn't care that he had him. I think they care about exotic pets more for border crossing. The CDC actually says, "Pet cats are subject to inspection at ports of entry. A general certificate of health is not required by CDC for entry of pet cats into the United States, although some airlines or states may require them."  Check with the airlines and state to be sure. This might be about to help you. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel/bring-pet-into-the-united-states/pet-travel-cats-into-us

Great, thank you so much! I had no idea that Montreal actually could answer the phone lol

Hihi.. the number should just be the general line.. not the actual consulate officer number. The person who I spoke to had good knowledge and was able to direct me what to do in my case

I have searched the FAQ and the threads but can't find a specific answer.   My interview is next month and in the interview letter it said to bring all birth certificates even for children not immigrating.   Can anyone tell me do these need to be long form or will the short form be enough?

I had to request my long form one recently (NVC accepted my short form one and after reading the forums and others suggestions I decided to take no chances and have the long one ready for interviews.) and it took them nearly a month to get it to me.

It depends where the child was born as each country has their own standard for birth certificate. Use this tool to help you determine what type of document you need: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html

Assuming you’re referring to a Canadian birth certificate, long form is required. It’s all in the link.

Hi All,

When the NVC sent our DQ'd letter, they spelled my wife's middle name wrong in the salutation to her, but the DS-260 and all other documents are correct.  Has anybody else seen this?  Any cause for concern?

Priority dates are meaningless in the IR/CR world as visa numbers are always available. It's not used for determining order for interviews, it seems completely based on the DQ date, so you should get a letter in the April batch if all goes well.

It does have meaning.  If they take a group of DQ's, the interviews will be given in order of oldest to youngest PD date in that group of DQ's.  When the kids and I interviewed, we had one of the oldest PD's, so our interview was one of the first of the blocks.  People who had newer PD dates were at the end of the block of interviews.

Pay for an in cabin kitty.  If kitty has anxiety, he will do better with you, anyway.  You'll have to add kitty to your reservation and have him vetted within 10 days of travel.  A rabies certification will depend on which state you're moving to.  One day of anxiety will be lots better than moving to a new country with his person than for him to go stay with family in an unfamiliar place.

I have a nervous kitty, too.  Hubs took him back home to Texas a month before our interview.  Kitty did great...he enjoyed people watching from his Sleepy Pod.  He did NOT appreciate the landing, however!  It was only in that moment that people realized my poor fat cat was onboard the plane when he cried out.  He was hub's shadow, too, while he reacclimated to home.  He was much happier 2 weeks later when my girl kitty took her flight back to Texas and joined him at home. The pair were super happy when we were all reunited at home.  Routine and order were restored!

Huh...interesting. So what you're saying is if they have say Sept 1st DQ that they're picking, for that specific date they'll go from older PD to Newer PD?

Yep. Its like the ONLY time it means something to someone other than yourself....or when you're calling them to ask why something taking so long.  Otherwise, for Montreal filers, it's a pretty depressing reminder of how slow the consulate is!

This didn't happen in my IL group (though we were a small group). Just off the top of my head there were 3 of us scheduled on the same day and my PD was at least 4 months before the other two (I did get the earliest appointment that day but I think that's because I also had an earlier DQ date haha).

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.
