Hi Folks,

Is it possible to upload new i-864 (with updated work and address) after Interview Letter to CEAC or it's too late? I remember reading on this page that it's always good to upload new documents to CEAC before the interview but I when I asked my lawyer to do so he said that now the case is with the consulate and we need to update the consulate not NVC (because NVC is done with the case at this point). Is this true? I am a bit confused.

Thank you!

You can upload your new documents directly to CEAC and hit "Submit Documents". Many folks on here, including myself, have done this pre-interview. Montreal has access to CEAC and can see your documents/files directly on there. They actually like when people are prepared and submit documents directly in the CEAC portal for them to review. Even if you do upload it to CEAC, I would still bring it to your interview.

Hey everyone!

This is for members who have completed their point of entry at the Buffalo-Fort Erie Peace Bridge during covid restrictions.

Has anyone attempted to cross with their parents or another individual driving them across the border?

I am not planning on importing a vehicle as mine is too rusted to pass an inspection in Pennsylvania.

I thought about driving a Uhaul truck, but I have an 11 month old and there is no back seat in a Uhaul for a car seat.

So the next best option for me was to have someone else drive me across, which my parents would gladly do with their truck and trailer. Just wondered if anyone has tried this in covid times in Buffalo and how the border guards reacted?

Thanks,

Rachael

Interview date: April 14

Hey Rachael,

I called the border (north portal in sask), and was told that my parents would be deemed non-essential, so I'm the only one who would be allowed to cross. Couple options we've been toying with :  Certain rental companies will allow you to take one-way rentals cross border, so you may have to drive in a convoluted way, or take multiple rentals.. but it's an option.  Alternatively, you could have someone pick you up from the border - your parents would be denied but you would technically "walk" across the border. It is my understanding you can also drive your vehicle across without importing, but you will need to drive it back up within a certain time frame.

Hope this is helpful.  Maybe Buffalo - Fort Erie has different rules.

Hi

We will be crossing via. North Portal aswell. Can you share your experience once you are done? Also can you tell us where did you get Covid testing done in Regina (I am assuming that's where you're travelling from) and how long did it take?

Thank you!

Hi Acmanu,  If we decide to take a rental vehicle, we will be crossing via Pembina-Emerson.

As far as covid testing in Regina goes, if you sign up for e-health, and use the drive through testing site, you can actually get your test results online within 24-48 hours.  ( I have been tested 3 times and the longest I've waited was 48 hours).  If you would like a rapid test look at the YQR website, as they have a link that will direct you.  Think it costs $200.  Alternatively, I think Haztech safety started doing them recently, but I could be mistaken.

I thought Covid test was only required for flying into the US not for land crossing unless this has changed recently, hard to keep up with all the changes.

Not sure on this, but we will get one either way just to be sure!  Lots of variables these days.

Thanks for those who have replied re: Toronto Panel Physicians.  I have an appointment with Dr. Lee.  I'll post experience afterwards.

Keep us updated. More Toronto medical test info would be appreciated.

That's fine you're offering some anecdotal suggestions; however, you come across as rather toll like and combative in your responses.

As you have likely noticed, this is a very fast paced, near real time thread.  The information provided is about as up to date as one can get in regards to IR1/CR1 visas and their processing at the Montreal consulate.  If you don't care for the information as it's provided, maybe this particular thread is not best suited to you.  New people join the thread in search of answers and don't want to be confused by misinformation from the past.  They want to know what they need to do or what is acceptable in the present.  It's also why @Hawk Riders works hard at keeping the spreadsheet up to date and @DGF works hard at keeping the FAQ's up to date.  These are invaluable resources that all are encouraged to reference because they've been built out from the same questions and concerns being voiced a number of times.

Again, just trying to keep it relevant to the present.

Thank you for your feedback! everyone can use more polite language I guess :)

For folks already in the US, how long did it take to receive your GC (specifically service center - Texas)? I’ve heard they are sending them out quite fast! It also took me awhile to figure out how to track the GC status, but I finally got it! I entered my immigrant visa fee payment receipt number and that worked! Status still says “fees paid”.

Also, called SSN and they said husband’s card was issued and we should receive it in next few days. 🙏🏼
