Hey you guys, I just checked up on my case status and as you can see it says it was updated today, but it still shows refused. I can't remember what the bottom paragraph said on Friday when I first looked, but I'm really worried this means it's been officially refused now.

You mentioned in a post a few days ago that you had some delay and they kept your passport while running additional checks, no? if so, you are probably in AP which will show refused per the message in the box + as stated in the FAQ. Try to reach out to the consulate and see what they say. you may not get exact details but can hopefully confirm it's due to AP (and temporary before it's issued)

Hi everyone. I received my DQ last year and during the pandemic two things have happened; (1) I moved addresses since DQ, and (2) I changed jobs since DQ. Currently in Toronto with a interview at the consulate on March 29. Are there specific steps I need to take to update my employment and home address before the interview or are there forms that I need to fill out and bring with me on my interview date. Thanks in advance.

Hey! I had the same situation. You can't change anything till you go to the interview. At the interview they asked me about my current home address, and I confirmed that that is where I want my passport sent back (and I had my courier information updated to the current one too). They didn't ask about my job situation so I didn't tell them. I didn't need to show any documents about these changes but I had it with me anyway. To be honest, it seemed to me that they were / are only bothered about continued employment of the US spouse so they can sponsor you.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Yes I was told I'd be going into AP at the interview for two reasons (waiting for medical and need to look into a border crossing issue), what just shook me today is that it says it was updated today, but it was still refused. Although this could be also because they maybe took care of one of those two issues, but not the other. I'm a nervous wreck about this.. Ugh.

Same here it doesnt work for me too, lets see if it works tomorrow.

unfortunately, ours took a few days too! On top of that, the pay.gov website wasn't working properly so I had to submit my credit card information multiple times on different computers...

I totally understand what you're going through. the waiting game sucks and not knowing what's up... hopefully your AP status will be cleared soon!

Did they say at your interview that you were approved?

No, posted a few pages back (the same day the ILs came out so it got lost in the shuffle of messages)

anyway, no, he said everything looks good aide from a matter regarding my husband crossing the border with some of my things last summer. He said he would look into it and basically make sure everything makes sense. He said it temporarily refused until he looks into the matter.

Was your US spouse not working at the time? And were you still approved? I'm the petitioner but have not been working, but we have a joint sponsor because I am unable to work. I just hope they dont care!

My US Spouse was working at the time and I didn't have a joint sponsor so our situation is slightly different! If you have a joint sponsor, you should be good. I think they want to make sure that whoever is sponsoring (even if it is jointly) you can do so and they would check that with the Affidavit of Support and Financial Documents that you provide.

They asked me the standard questions like "where does your US spouse work" and "what does he do for work" as well as "what kind of job do you plan to do when you go to US". I've seen some people mention that if there is a joint sponsor, they ask the same questions about the joint sponsor so it should be okay (others would be able to comment on that). Also, at the interview window, he didn't check any documents. All the financial support documents were collected at the first window.

Sorry I wasn't too helpful! I was only commenting on the Beneficiary since the my address and job situation changed from DQ to Interview as well.

Interview was one week ago today. Status message changed Thursday midday. Shipping notice Friday afternoon and I picked up my passport today!  Is this real life? Two weeks shy of 2 years. Thanks everyone for sharing your experience and wisdom on here.

It’s not officially refused. You have the AP note underneath it. Your case is still in AP. Ours went to an actual refusal without the AP note underneath. They later sent us a letter explaining the refusal (which was erroneous). After a long chain of emails back and forth, they fixed their mistake and issued my husband his visa. Don’t worry! They just have you in admin processing. The date changing is a good thing, means someone is looking at your case. My husband’s case wasn’t even touched for 2 months post-interview. Stay positive! DM me if you need more info! :)
