Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced the arrest of Rachel Rodriguez for election fraud, illegal voting, unlawfully assisting people voting by mail, and unlawfully possessing an official ballot. Each charge constitutes a felony under the Texas Election Code. Rodriguez was exposed in a Project Veritas video last fall while she engaged in vote harvesting leading up to the 2020 election. The Election Fraud Division of the Office of the Attorney General reviewed dozens of hours of unedited, raw footage, which led to this arrest. In an uncharacteristic moment of honesty, Rodriguez acknowledged on video that what she was doing is illegal and that she could go to jail for it. If convicted, Rodriguez could face up to 20 years in prison.

Doesn't happen, Project Veritas is fake, yadda yadda.

Doesn't this mean Texas' electoral vote needs to be challenged in court, not certified, recounted 3 times and then objected to and possibly rejected by Congress?  According to Trump supporters?

Or do we only do that when there is no evidence of fraud?

I agree, fraud is bad.

We all agree fraud is bad. If we have evidence of fraud that leads to a guilty person getting convicted, that is awesome. Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention. I think we have seen several, maybe even 10 people get charged this last election.

Something we also should all probably agree on is that making up fake allegations of fraud is also bad. I'm not sure why people continue to give the Trump team a pass on that one.

I imagine there were probably fake ones, but each allegation especially when made formally deserves its evidence heard and because the circumstances around voting involves privacy, it likely needs investigation, especially when they're made in the sort of volume and consistency they were here. If the expectation is that "you prove it beyond shadow of a doubt now or else" then one can reasonably conclude people are simply okay with fraud and the litany of other things accused (fraud being sort of the catch-all term here as people aren't legal experts that know every intricacy of laws and regulations). This is really a microcosm of the USA's descent, it's all about getting one's way and screw the vital thing we should be all interested in getting past (let them try and prove their case, if they need to inspect machines let them, if they need to inspect ballots, let them and accommodate in a timely fashion), as there is no United States if few to none trust the results. I can't see how people can be satisfied with what we've seen the last 20 years, from the hanging chads stupidity and vote disenfranchisement to ballot stuffing/harvesting and trying to prevent oversight of the process. Perhaps its the ADHD speaking but I'm more more favorable of getting past issues expediently. It's incredibly toxic for this sort of thing to sit there unsolved and let resentment grow. If people want to solve it, lets solve it now. If they don't and all is on the table to facilitate an end goal of getting one's way, lets end the Republic now.

When all the cases are getting thrown out of court, it tells us first and foremost there was no formal evidence. I realize they wanted there to be some, but there wasn't. So they made that part up, and the court shot it down. Whether Trump actually believed any of it it, or if he just couldn't handle losing, or if it was just a tactic to get more funding, IDK. The end was the same. It made a lot of people unhappy, some people riot and 5 people end up dead over something that we still have no proof of 2 months later. Hopefully it's done, but I'm not sure of that.

What you're missing is that Trump has his own definition of fraud - if it goes his way, it's fair, if it doesn't, it's fraudulent. If you look at it this way, all fraud allegations were correct.

Didn't Giuliani say in court "This is not a fraud case?

Hanging chads were ok because a Republican won.

I think the things he says under oath matter a little more.

    It shows that:

    a) he is a liar.

    b) he knows he is a liar.

    c) he understands the consequences of those actions.

Hopefully he'll get another day in court on the other side of things to explain all that.
