I-864, meet requirements as (new) joint sponsor, but is it always enough?

I am the new joint sponsor (I-864) for my relative's spouse (they received an email asking for a new joint sponsor).  I have previously submitted an I-864A for a family member (spouse's relative who has GC) as well.  So, per the I-864 instructions, my family size is me+spouse+dependent children+previous I-864A person+this immigrant, which yields a family size number.

My income is more than 1.5x the 125% value for the associated family size.  My only concern was that I had previously submitted an I-864A.  Even though I exceed the 125% FPL, would there be any issue?

Also, how would this be updated on CEAC?  Do they need to call the consulate to get the previous joint sponsor's information removed?

There are only two "always" that apply to the I-864 when used in immigrant visa cases.  1. Unqualified sponsors are always rejected.  2.  Acceptance of any sponsor is always a judgment call by a Consular Officer.

Sounds like you qualify.  First thing regarding the unqualified joint sponsor is to delete their documents from CEAC.  There can only be ONE joint sponsor.  That's YOU, if you qualify, and cannot be somebody already judged NOT to qualify.
