EAD/AP Combo Card Renewal Fee (Pending I-485)

Hello everyone,

Because of Covid-19, my wife has been waiting nearly a year for her green card interview and her EAD/AP combo card expires in March. We want to renew it but since we have a pending I-485 would the fee be waived? Also, what are the turnaround times for renewals?

Thank you!

Yes. No fees. If they refuse the biometrics and you get IOE case numbers, it will take 1-2 months to get approved.

Only if full i-485 fee was paid: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-485instr-pc.pdf

Filing Form I-485 with Forms I-765 and I-131
If you properly file Form I-485 and pay the required fees, you may file Form I-765 and Form I-131 without paying additional fees. You may file these forms together, or if you choose to file Form I-765 or Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence that you filed and paid for Form I-485.

Isn’t this only for the first time since we filed them both with form I-485. But now that its expiring and we need a renewal, does it still warrant a waiver or?

Renewal is still free since full I-485 fee was paid. See 8 CFR § 106.2(a)(32)(iv)(A).

Thank you so much. I would also have to fill out form I-912 to request the fee waiver as well correct?

No. The fee for both I-765 and I-131 is literally $0 in your wife's case. But for proof she must submit a photocopy of her I-485 receipt notice showing that I-485 fee was paid. See the following example:

Hi, I was just looking at that, as I'm finishing the packets and I was still in doubt with that. The fully paid I-485 would be the fee of it plus biometric services right? So if the check is for $1225 it would still cover for the I-765 abd I-131 too?

Yup that's the address. You'll notice those 2 are essentially the same since "Attn" line is optional but recommended. FBAS means Family Based Adjustment of Status.
