Point of Entry.. does he HAVE to go to New York?

I know this got mentioned before... BUT i dont remember..

I live in Boston... there IS a international airport 15 mins from my house...

BUT his Visa was stamped with New York on it...

Does he HAVE to go through NY??? or can he just come here?

Why is his visa stamped with NY on it? Did you used to live in NY? Don't ask me why but I have my husband's passport with me and I'm looking at the visa stamp. The only thing that mentions a state is in the annotation section which says, To join wife in Michigan.

I don't think it matters which POE he uses. My husband used NY as a POE but then came to MI. The POE is just the place where he enters the US.

Personally I think he should fly nonstop to NYC, you should take off for three days, stay at a very nice hotel where you both can get massages twice/day and the DOS should pay for it.

This goes for everyone!!!! After all the ####### that put us through (though you didn't have that hard of a time alhumdulilah) they should foot the bill for a relaxing romantic weekend in NYC for everyone when their spouses come home!

I just spoke to DOS.. they said it didnt matter what was stamped... and that he can come in Where ever he wants

That's interesting, I've never heard of that... there is no state/city stamped on my husband's visa.

FYI my husband went through customs in Boston and it was great - fast and easy. He was out in the same amount of time as the rest of the flight.

C. drove to Boston to get the employment stamp from their deferred entry area at Logan, so if your husband flies into Boston, he can probably still get the temporary work authorization stamp.

Her husband is coming in on a K3 so he can't get the work permit. We're in the same boat over here.
