So i applied for me ead renewal a bit late, i have been struggling to find work due to covid and have been very stressed trying to find a job and i just didn't relize how close the date was

My ead expires tomorrow and i have not recieved confirmation, it was recieved by the phoenix az drop box at the end of december.

I am panicking because my wife and I (here on K-1) have already ran through most of our savings and are struggling to make ends meet, i have been working part time roles to fill my time but i won't be able to do that without an ead.

essentially my question is will I recieve the 180 day grace period when i can still work even if uscis don't actively look at my case because they recieved it before the expiration of my ead

Yes. See 8 CFR § 103.2(a)(7)(i): "USCIS will consider a benefit request received and will record the receipt date as of the actual date of receipt at the location designated for filing such benefit request whether electronically or in paper format." The only thing is you currently don't have proof of the automatic extension until the I-765 receipt arrives.

You sent the forms to the wrong place. If you came with K1, you have MSC case numbers, therefore the renewal forms should've been sent to Chicago, same address you sent the AOS package.

Sending to the wrong address will cause it to either get rejected or they will forward the package to the correct lockbox, and that delays the process in 2-4 weeks.

Chicago was the place to send.

All you can do is wait. You will either get the package back or the NOAs. You can resend the forms, now to right location, but you might end up with double applications.
