   I have met people from other countries who have actually fled the consequences of corrupt regimes. Americans are fortunate. Our tyranny is bunch of rubbish made up by people with over active imaginations who will never have to face actual tyranny.

I loved Mcconnell's speech. It laid out a more compelling case to convict Trump via an impeachment trial than what the house put forth, which was quite compelling, but he couldn't vote to convict, because, get this, the paperwork was late.

Trump is toast in four years even if part of his following stays with him.  The GOP is also toast IMO in 2022 based on what is coming out on them.  Both Parties in DC are beyond fixing, both are spending our children’s/grandchildren’s money and damning their future.  There is one thing Trump was very right about, DC is indeed a swamp, and with the establishment back in power, it will grow even bigger.

He was right about DC being a swamp. Unfortunately he seemed to fit right in. He appointed 3 Supreme Court Justices,  a few dozen Federal judges, and a lot of others that he gave positions to. It was like a revolving door. So does a rational mind think all of these people were against him? Or is he a poor executive that can’t come up with the right person for the job? Or is he the problem?

In a lot of ways you are absolutely correct which is kind of endemic of what goes on in DC.  Those that aren’t elected are grifters just trying to swindle money out of the masses for their own purposes.  Trump made many mistakes in the last four years and one of them was relying on DC insiders as advisers.

I honestly doubt he could have come up with enough qualified advisors who were out of the loop and willing to put up with his abrasive personality and holier than thou attitude. Good advisors don’t jus tell me what I want them to hear so I won’t fire them.

I’m posting from an iPad. The ads on the left side of the page are quite intrusive when replying. Sometimes they go away quickly, other times I can’t get rid of them. It makes it a pain to proofread.

  You need to switch to PC. Then you get intrusive adds on top, to the right and several in between posts and occasionally take over the whole page.
