What did Mike Lee say? I am seriously asking because I can't stream video at work.

It was about the call he got from Trump that was meant for Tuberville. Politico does a good rundown. https://www.politico.com/news/2021/02/10/mike-lee-trump-impeachment-468509

Basically one of the managers was reading from a report in the media about the call, and Lee said that the substance of the report wasn't true. Raskin said it wasn't worth all the hassle and said it wasn't critical to the case, so it was withdrawn.

Here's what a Salt Lake Tribune reporter who was texting with Lee on 1/6 about the call had to say about his interactions with Lee about the call: https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2021/02/11/what-sen-mike-lee-told-me/

So in the end, the House manager that brought up the item had to withdraw it as essentially wrong?

If you watched today's case against Trump, and are convinced that he should be acquitted, you are not paying attention.

Who really cares.  In the end, the GOP will be greatly divided and the Dems and their continuing shift to the extreme Left will stay in power.  Btw, who is next in line for impeachment over inciting rioting against government institutions, Kamala Harris, Chucky Schumer, maybe Maxine Waters?

I care about the attack on the Capitol, the death of one officer who was protecting Congress, the 165 injured officers, the  possibility that the speaker, the VP and other elected officials were in the path of danger, possibly assassination. That a seated president planned for  the rally attendee's to march on the Capitol, that the breach of the Capitol was planned, that our Capitol building was sacked for the first time since the war of 1812, that confederate flags were waved through the halls of Congress. Most of the country cares and is embarrassed looking for a away it won't happen again.

Yet none of those things indicate that Trump planned, encouraged, or participated in any illegal activities.  You seem to overlook the very same "evidence" which, by your standards, would convict several Democrats during the riots in several cities.  You can't cherry pick your criminals....yet, you certainly do.

There is no doubt that Trump will, again, be aquitted in this "trial".......and the Dems can, once again, feel good about their waste of time.

They haven't even released the cause of death for the officer that died. It is very unfortunate that he died but I just want to figure out why he died. We originally heard that he had a brain aneurysm from being hit with a fire extinguisher, another time I have heard of him being beat to death, and now I am hearing he might have had a bad reaction to bear mace

Yep. and the folks responsible for that riot and those that committed the acts should be held accountable.  Just as those assaulting Senators over a SCOTUS pick, or those storming into SCOTUS while in session, or for that matter those attacking federal buildings in other cities.  Shouldn't we care about all of it equally?  As to holding Trump responsible, if you want that, then there should be others you also want removed from both sides.

IMO Roberts is saying that Trump is no longer a sitting President, so he has no obligation to preside which I tend to agree with.  That opens up the question as to whether the Senate trial is Constitutional at all, and no the Senate does not have the ultimate say in that matter.  Now the House impeachment is proper from a Constitutional perspective, but the Senate should have taken up the trial portion immediately and not waited.  Now the Left will claim the Belknap impeachment as being precedent setting, but reading of that case, the same questions were being asked, and since Belknap was acquitted, the question was never tested in SCOTUS.  In a way, I would not mind seeing Trump convicted in the Senate as then maybe things could be tested, but I doubt that will happen as much like Belknap, many Senators have already decided that this kangaroo court is not Constitutional, so I don't really see how they can change their minds regardless of what the House Managers say.
