I am heading to Portland tommorow. I will let everyone know what kind of post apocalyptic mad max hellhole I discover.  I hope the Ramen is still good.

I know, but when you storm the Capitol building and chant that you want to hang the VP and Speaker, it gets federal attention, it's not a local dc matter.

Seems I remember Trump sending Federal agents to protect federal buildings that had been stormed and the MDL lost its paisley patterned, Perrier sipping, Birkenstock wearing, positive Aura beaming,  moonbeam bathing, vegan munching minds

Reporting back on Portland with my chakra intact. We had a brief visit with friends who live in the Pearl district downtown. I wouldn't have an issue living downtown by the river, quite nice actually.

I did not pick up a case of Perrier there, but my Portland Brew Co allocations were ready and it went well with the meat lovers at Ranch Pizza. Rumours of exclusive veganism in Portland are greatly exaggerated.

Our hosts did say the covid had taken a toll and the homeless men, with 1 shelter bed for 4 men is presenting a huge challenge.

Right wing or Left wing extremism in the the streets is not a challenge nowadays, but not everyone gets their news on Twitter so they might be out of touch compared to observing first hand.

When I was in Portland last month it was advised to avoid the three block area around the Federal courthouse.

Seems some of the violence is spreading to the suburbs.  SW

I literally searched for the text "Federal authorities have arrested more than 300 people amid a crackdown on racial injustice protesters in the U.S. since spring. " and that's what came up. The graphic is from the AP.  If you scroll down the page, you will see this:

CanAm's post made it look like the title of the article was "Federal charges levied in racial unrest" but this was the title of the graphic. The actual AP piece itself is this one: https://apnews.com/article/virus-outbreak-race-and-ethnicity-suburbs-health-racial-injustice-7edf9027af1878283f3818d96c54f748

People ARE arrested for just protesting all the time. Charges don't get filed or cases get dismissed. It happens. I'm certain that there will be people who are arrested for what happened on January 6th who genuinely were just protesting.
