I485 Receipt Not received

Hello,

We filed for employment based I485 application and it was received at the Texas Service center on 24th Nov 2020.

I still haven't received any form of acknowledgement( receipt or RFE or Rejection) .

Would you know if there is a way to track this application or some way to get in touch with USCIS to help us understand the timeline?

ANy advise is appreciated.

Thank you.

Regards

Pradeep

Care to elaborate the bolded?

2 months is now a norm before you hear/ receive any receipts from USCIS

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

What is unclear about that? AOS from work visa...

OP you can email the lockbox where you sent your application to but don't expect a fast answer.

I think we are all on the same page that OP has a work visa. Seems that for Timona it's not clear from initial post if a company filed I-140 for OP, or a family member (e.g. spouse, etc.) filed I-130 for OP. This AOS from work, student, etc. forum covers both scenarios.

But if a family member would have filed it wouldn't be employment but family based. Anyways, not so much important right now since the question is only about how long it might take to get a receipt notice and that should be the same for everyone.

Yup, pretty much since the 3 Non-Family Based (NFB) filing locations (Dallas, Chicago, and Phoenix) are also backlogged. https://www.uscis.gov/i-485-addresses

Hello All,

Thank you so much for your responses on this topic. Appreciate all the comments and help.

Yes, sorry if I wasn't clear but the AOS filed was based on my H1 I140 and hence I referred to it as employment based instead of family based application.

So the norm seems to be 2 months! good to know as I was anxious and finding ways to inquire into this.

THank you once again.

Regards

Pradeep
