Do I need to file i-944 with i-129f?

Hi,

I am currently preparing for i-129f. 

My fiance told me that I should file i-944 with i-129f but in the instruction of i-129, it doesn't say anything. From my understanding of i-944, I need to submit it when I'm in the process of adjustment of status which means after I enter the US. 

He called USCIS and they said I need to submit i-944 with i-129f but I'm still not sure if I need it because most of the questions in i-944 seem irrelevant to me.

 

Does anyone file i-944 with i-129f?

No. It's sent later during Adjustment of Status. Are you the US citizen? I-129F is filed by the US citizen.

It's common for USCIS phone line to give out misinformation in regards to what to send-in with forms. Their true purpose is to provide you updates on pending cases or to escalate your call if the Tier 1 can't help.

The US citizen submits the I129F not tbe alien

Here is a hint on how to complete the forms. Take the instructions literally. Don't overthink and don't try and second guess what they are looking for. Doing so will get you in a situation that could cause an extended wait time. Just saying.

 

I-944 is not used for any part of the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e).
