I thought this freakin' heatwave was supposed to have ended but apparently not. :( I"m sick of it I had to use my inhaler three times so far today 'cause the air quality sucks. Now my husband is finally understanding why I need a/c when I"m there!!!!!!

My hands and feet are still numbish. I keep pinching them to get some feeling. I think I"ll call the doctor today since I wanna get this handled before I leave. If it's just the RA I can deal but I don't wanna have a massive coronary while in Alex.:wacko:

Woke up an hour late for work so now I gotta make it up on the other end. blech.

Oh and I HATE my ex. My kids called me yesterday to tell me that he's just working all day while they're in the house. Sometimes he'll bring them on a job (he's in construction) but other than that they've done NOTHING while they're there. He's like "well I can't just take off work!!"...which is a load of bull since he is a semi-professional car racer and he takes off every other week in the summer traveling all over the nation to race but he can't take one freakin' week off to spend with his daughters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

Still pretty hot here, but that's nothing new.

Amed and I just signed a contract on a house, so we've been busily attending to that. There are so many things to be done! We have to get an elevation certificate for the house (it's in a flood zone), get the inspection done, etc. It's a little scary! We're going to be broke for the next few months. :( But, I'm excited that we're getting our own place.

This summer is going by so fast. I can't believe it's practically July already.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Hot and humid here in Philly...has been for a while now. The heat index is supposed to reach 100 today  . I guess this is natures way of saying "Get ready for Ghana" :jest: (even though the humidity is not as bad as it is here.

Besides that nothing else much going on. I need to start packing stuff and clean my apartment since my sister is coming in Saturday (from Iowa) and then I am taking her to JFK on Sunday (she gets to go to Ghana before me).

Have a good Thursday everyone!!!

LOL.....anyway he went to the internet place tonite and we talked about an hr, he told me about the apartment and that he will get the key next week when he finishes the payment.....andddddddddddddddd he is going to chk and see if there is a travel agent open tomorrow, if not he will go on saturday!!! andddddd hopefully i will have my official date and flight plan sometimes very very very soon!! and thennn i get to mail out my packet to the consulate.

in other news..

Daemian and my sister got reallllllly burnt yesterday when we went swimming. i know from my expirience with a really bad case of sun poision last year that i dont mess around with the sun anymore. we thought they were protected, but apparently not enuf. i sure hope he heals okay. no more sun for him. his complextion is like mine. today it is rainy....tomorrow we are supposed to go to the park, but not sure yet we will have to see how he is feeling with the burn and what not. he is resting right now. he is involved in a reading club at the library for the summer and he already earned a prize for reading 5 books in one day. im glad he enjoys reading. hmmmmm what else............oh yea we have lots of fair's going on this week and next week in our towns so we will be busy bees in the evening when its cooler. Dae really loves rides!!! he is still super excited about me going back to Geo, but insists i bring him back next time. so we are going to try to work on at least a visit visa for Geo to go to Canada so we can have a family vacation. if not then Dae will come to be with us in the summer next year during Geo's vacation from work. Inshallah we will be together under one roof soon.

congrats to all visa in handers and successful interviews........it really has been a good week!

The hands and feet are probably due to anemia...so says the doctor but they're running some tests on my blood just in case it's something else. I've never heard of anemia causing that before. Anyway on my way there I got the start of an optical migraine and now it's in full force. Yay me!!! :) Alhumdulilah.

Just waiting for my husband to come online and then I'm gonna plup an icepack on my head and lay in a dark room. Hopefully the tylenol will kick in by then. Kinda bummed that they didn't give me some strong meds.

Doodlebug,

Absolutely anemia can bring about the peripheral neuropathy you mentioned. Other factors may be diabetes which is usually the main cause, reactions to some medications, and it could even be hereditary , just to name a few. Apart from you experiencing the general sense of numbness, do you also have a tingly or burning sensation in your hands ( as well as feet ) ? How about pins and needles?

Hopefully, your doctor can diagnose what is going on and get you some form of treatment.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
