Hey everyone,

after NOA2 the guide says to mail a packet to your fiancée. What company is the best or easiest to use to mail the documents ?

I send stuff all the time to Thailand, use the USPS. If you are sending a copy of your K1 package for her to review for the interview, you can just scan it in and email it to her. The issue is depending on her address in Thailand, getting stuff to her could take a while. My fiancee at the time rented a box at her local post office. Only a few hundred baht a year, and you get a good reliable address to send stuff to. I did a K1 from Thailand also, and never mailed anything for immigration purposes, just send birthday card and small gifts. I did send some documents I thought she might need, but scanned and emailed documents worked fine. I could email them to her, and she would print them out at a local internet shop.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

What about the new desire to marry letter and the signed I-134?  Emailed copies worked?

Yes, email copies were fine. They didn't even take the second intent to marry letter, never asked for it. And they didn't care about the I134 not having a "wet" signature. CO was more interested in my current pay stubs to make sure I was still employed. I sent the most recent 3 stubs, so about 6 weeks of work.

The Packet 3 instructions from US Embassy Thailand state that they will need both certified originals and copies of marriage and divorce documents for both Petitioner and Beneficiary. So essentially I have the same question about a later step in the process that will necessitate sending hard copies of original documents to Thailand.

I have looked at USPS as well and it looks like a good option but I don't have any experience with reliability on the Thai end of things.

DHL is expensive, but it is good for mission critical items.  I would never trust USPS unless there is plenty of time.  I had an item sit somewhere with no movement for a month before when I sent a small package to Thailand.  It is hit or miss with USPS.

Dang. Do we really need to send certified hard copies of divorce documents?  That seems unnecessary.

certified hard copies of divorce documents

It's been that way pretty much everywhere (that I've ever heard) for a long time.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Are case is finally in  transit to BKK.

I will try to  efile 2020 taxes soon  and supposedly you can get tax transcript 2 weeks after filing.  I think you need copy of first marriage certificate also.   On the I-134 is this submitted electronically? Or just a form you send fiancee to have at interview?

Does fiance really need copy of the 110 pages of I-129?

Fiancee says I need this.

They need from you:

1.i -134

2.employment letter Except I'm retired

3.W2  if have

4.tax transcript

5. Bank statement

6. Divorce decree and marriage cert.

7.copy passport every time to thailand but I say not needed because I have not been able to take any trips to visit since I-129 and passport pages are in that.

-I read they needed previous marriage certificates. of course the divorce decree is in the I-129 that they can find  with some keystrokes.

I have read many people sent the beneficiary copies of the I-129.   I am under the impression the I-134 is only submitted at the interview.  seems odd

I read only 1 tax year "transcript" is needed.  this can be downloaded  2 weeks after efile.

-a statement of financial assets.  IRA, 401K Td Ameritrade type thing.

-letter of affirmation to marry by each of us.

_ a little bit of proof relationship has continued. I'm assuming things like money sent, gifts for Vday, Bday maybe a few snippets of chat logs.

-she will need police report and medical and vaccinations help

I requested my original marriage certificate from the county that I got married in 20 years ago and received an official version.  I also went to the county where my divorce was finalized and got an official version of the decree.  My recommendation is to do everything on the letter so we don’t find out during the interview that additional documents are needed especially after waiting this long for the interview.  The original marriage certificate could take 2-3 weeks if they need to mail.
