If the company your using has locations around the world, they may be able to talk internally and give you a better idea on when there is a container.

Your best bet is to push the company to find an approx date.  They should be giving you updates every 24-48 hours.  Worst case scenario if you need to leave at the end of the month will be they come in and pack, load into trucks and take to a warehouse and then reload it in the container when one is found.  The problem with this method is it increases the chances of breakage, damage, etc.  Sea shipments from the Philippines will take about 4-6 weeks depending on which coast it will come to in the US, plus weather, customs, and inland transportation within the US.

Thank you! The origin and destination movers both have locations around the world. Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely push them to give an approximate date. I inquired about storage after packing/prior to leaving Manila but didn't get an answer yet. I hope nothing gets damaged. We have insurance but filing a claim might be a pain.

Thanks  @John & Rose @Allovertheworld and @seekingthetruth!

I wouldn't say all but a lot of the furniture you see around are flimsy (mostly from China) that's why I had mine (before I met my husband) customized in Silang, Cavite using hardwood. You have to go to the right places. What we are shipping now are from SM Home (not the Department Store), some customized, and outdoor woven furniture from Cebu. They're only 2.5 years old but so far so good. The only complaint my husband had was they were too expensive.

My husband particularly wants to keep the outdoor furniture. They have been outdoors for more than 2 years but no sign of wear at all. We also have furniture from the US that will be shipped back.

My husband is 6'3" and 245 lbs. He broke some chairs back when he first came here, in the hotel he was staying in. 😅 So he made sure that we bought the best kind for our house.

We will not use a container so we are already downsizing in anticipation of our move in in 2022.  We just sold these root benches and table.  I bought them for about p10,000 (~$200) from a local craftsman and sold them for the same.  I happened to see something similar for sale on Craigs List in the U.S., for $6000!  It was declared an antique and purchased by a military man in the 60's.  If you have room, it might be worth purchasing some extra quality hardwood Filipino style  furniture like this, as an investment, or for your home.

I am about 6' 2" I weigh about 235 and I am large framed,  I break about 2 plastics chairs per trip each time I visit the Philippines.  I usually have to stack a chair on a chair to get the right support for me.

They may of shipped their US furnture to PI back when they went there originally, so it may be good stuff they want to ship back.

I know how you feel, at 6'2" and 230, those plastic chairs get me nervous LOL

That’s a nice set! You could’ve sold it for more. But buying and selling at the same amount is really good enough. If we only had more room, I’d definitely take a similar one. What I’m thinking of getting is a karaoke system! 😆
