Receiving green card before AP/ EAD

Hi Everyone ! 


I filed for AOS in June 4th 2020 along with EAD and AP applications. I finally got my biometrics taken on December 3rd, so far there was no updates on either applications but yesterday my case updated to interview scheduled.  No updates of approval for EAD and AP though.. I am confused on how they are processing things I guess , I thought for sure I would receive the EAD card first but it seems like it might be the green card first . Has this happened to anyone ? Do they know not to send you the EAD in that case ? 
I am not complaining , just surprised ! :)

It happens sometimes.  The EAD is processed at a different place from your I-485.  I have seen a few cases in which the EAD arrived after the Green Card.....in which case, the EAD/AP is no longer valid

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Back in 2019 when Anastasia's AOS was processing, there was a running joke here about joining the club of people who got their EAD/AP after their interview was scheduled. Which we did 😀 (though something like ten days before her actual interview).
