No, many of us do see that and actively try to reach out to them to stop doing that #######.

You just said you didn't see any fascism 2 posts back. I apologize if that wasn't meant to be taken literally, but I've been hearing that for 4 years from some. The post you just made sounded a whole lot and conclusively better.

"Numerous Confederate flags"? Do you even go down South at all? There are Rebel flags flying in many parts of the South, or people have paraphernalia with it on. Just because they fly it or wear doesn't make them a racist. Heck, you used to see (before Dylan Routh) see many black people wear that stuff as well.

I could care less what someone is wearing as long as they don't do anything stupid. But what I am seeing from these companies and many people is straight up fascism. I am on a local politics page right now that is advocating for a complete seizure of "assault weapons" because of last week. Someone even posted that the "2A isn't working anymore"

It's all about hijacking language and weaponizing it for one's own purpose. White supremacy used to be about actually doing things to people of other races. Now it's about "flags" (apparently the flag is using magic to do something to people) and six degrees of separation between someone who might be a racist. Oh no, look at that noose! How many were hanged, or were even attempted/directly threatened at that event to be hung? Zero. It's as racist as the magical Bubba Wallace door pull "noose". Instead of trying to tackle actual problems, authoritarians hijack language and expand+weaponize these terms to shut down others. It's a way of creating problems out of nothing, and it's this sort of idiotic stuff that saturates the political discourse at their behest. It's likely the number one reason for polarization in the last handful of years. Far too much of this moronic stuff.

I really don't at all. I see onesies and twosies that is it. Not actual widespread anything. The South (at least here in NC) as become more open in the last 20 years but the element of "You do you and let me do me" is still very much alive. So there may be people like that but on average if you leave them alone then they will leave you alone.

The big issue right now at least here in NC is getting to be gun laws. There has been a strong undercurrent from the local Democrat party about increasing gun control and it has been shot down pretty uniformly. There are many people on Left that are Progressive until it comes to their firearms and then they can be as Conservative as I am sometimes. My neighbor is one of those people. She never owned a firearm her whole life living up in Chicago until she moved down here. Now she is a pistol packing grandma that voted for Biden

Furthermore, it's precisely how, even though people are upset about the riot and Trump's apparent stirring them up, they try and expand this to the justified, and perfectly legal objections in Congress (something Democrats routinely do over the last several decades when Republican Presidents get elected) to the electoral college certification, specifically as a way to prevent any challenges to their power, which is grossly Orwellian. So long as people dignify this dumb, idiotic and tyrannical approach by bending the knee, they'll keep repeatedly using the same tactic.

thats something that these far right extremists dont really understand, liberals own and like guns too. we just dont like the NRA or the people who think its ok to have unfettered access to firearms

for the record i dont like the idea of banning assault rifles either. but i do live in texas and down here, well guns are like a hobby for a lot of people. most people wouldnt mind the kind of background checks that see if you are a criminal or have a record or have had spousal abuse or child abuse complaints or are part of extremist groups or on a no fly list, that sort of thing. and to have some sort of course in proper firearm safety and operation and care.

taking guns away was never gonna happen, that pandora's box has been blown wide open, and its never gonna be closed again

Yeah I completely understand that but many people that are more NeoLiberal don't understand this at all.  They believe that many Democrats believe the same way as them so they must enact gun control. But this guy I am conversing with right now is clearly googling stuff and then trying to respond to me. He flat out said "I don't see why people don't use bolt action firearms anymore to hunt" when I told him that my older kids both shot deer this season with a AR style rifle.

I have a Concealed Carry Permit here in NC so I don't have to have a pistol permit to buy a handgun.
