What is this?  I must of missed it.

Are you serious? Pence calls his wife "mother" and is not in a room alone with a woman because he "respects his wife".

Edit. I mean any room at all

Oh wow, where have you been since 2016?

In the Philippines.  Is this what you are referring to?

Never heard of this either. But then again, I voted for him for VP, not spouse, so personal/trivial things like this I'm likely not privy to the details of don't matter anyways.

I like Pence. I think he seems like a respectful person and I like the way he conducts himself. I could see him as. President.

I don't see him winning... Maybe in 2016 but now. The Republican base has moved away from the "We have to play and act nice" crowd

He has morals, so that will probably hurt him. He would have respect for the office and conduct himself like a professional. I like firm but respectful. It worked well for Reagan, but then he truly had charisma, something lacking in recent times.

Maybe so. IMHO, he should have gone on national TV and said what he has to say.

This is what gets me, every news organization in the world would be present and record everything the President had to say about the violence, the threats to hang Pence, the sacking of the Capitol, the price of soybean futures, anything.

Where is he at? The press room is down the hall.

You can't complain about censorship on Twitter when you have the world of media at your feet.

I think he does as well which is why I think it is one of the reasons Romney lost in 2012. He lost because he was playing the high road just like Trump because he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty

But didn't he speak anyway and told them to go home?

Did I miss a Whitehouse press conference?

I agree. No excuses for his disappearance since the incident. Very unpresidential, very poor moral character.

I'm just amused that you never heard of it, I have heard so many references to it over the years. It was even raised again during the lead up to the VP debate.

Seriously, I'm dying. I live in America in the 2020s and it isn't normal here to call your spouse "Mother" or "Father"!  Your wife can call you whatever she wants, no judgment, but over here, calling a grown man "daddy" is usually in the context of some role play.

Sorry, dying again thinking of calling my husband "daddy." I should ask him now what he thinks of it not as a "fun time" thing but as an everyday thing.

TBH with you and @seekingthetruth my Filipina wife does the same thing. It was weird at first but I am used to it now. I just call her honey though.

Ok, different scenario.  Suppose Barack had called Michelle, the mother of his children, Mother, as a term of endearment.  What would have been the media reaction?  Be honest.
