Delay of Green Card Interview Results

My husband and I had our adjustment of status interview from a K-1 in Detroit on November 2nd and we still haven't received ANY notice in the mail or update online. It still says "Interview is Scheduled". Everything went smoothly during the interview, we were told by the officer that we would hear within 2-6 weeks. His first EAD card expires early January, and luckily we've had that approved to extend ability to work but it doesn't cover travel. We really want this green card and I don't understand what could cause this long of a delay? We've called and asked for a call back from Tier II, but it's been longer than 7 working days and no call back from them either. I've seen others receive cards during this time, so it doesn't seem to be a mass delay, just us.

Any advice? I was so happy after the interview, this wait is driving me crazy!

Hopefully you hear something soon. My friend and his wife did their AOS interview a few days before me in February 2020 at the San Francisco uscis office. Interview went well, and to this date, almost a year now his wife still hasn't received her green card. He has tried communicating with the USCIS office and everything and all they say is wait. My wife and I did our AOS interview on February 4th of 2020, and had her green card a week later to the day in the mailbox. There is no rhyme or reason for how USCIS operates. Hopefully you hear something soon. You should get notifications via email or case status that new card is being produced. Then you know it's on the way. I got the text and email about 2 hours after we left the USCIS office after our interview.

Good luck with your card showing up soon.

That's insane! I hadn't heard of anyone else with that kind of delay before. I always see stories like yours where people get them within a few days, maybe a week. I never thought this would be the step that would be so difficult. Has she not been able to leave the country for over a year then? We have no red flags on our case, I just don't understand.

His wife has her EAD AP card, so traveling was possible, but with the pandemic, she hasn't been able to go home. But he renewed her EAD AP card once, so she is still able to travel, but it is excessive in my opinion.

To the best of my knowledge, the renewed cards allow for work but not travel.

I've had my interview in the Detroit on December 17th. The officer gave me a white slip that said I will get a decision within 30 days but implied I will get approved and hear sooner than that. But I still only see "Interview Scheduled" on the website and now starting to get worried...

Will you let me know if you hear anything? Ours has been a lot longer, but maybe there's a hold up at the office? We also received a slip but it said wait 120 days before we could inquire. I plan to do that if we reach that point--we're at day 66.

It's been over 30 days now and still nothing. I just noticed that the slip says 120 days for inquiry... Can't wait for this to be over

Same here. We're at day 79. We did get to speak to a Tier II officer last week. He said everything looked normal with our case, and that the materials were still at the Detroit office. He told us to call again if we haven't heard anything in another 30 days.

Tomorrow will be 120 days from our interview date and still no notice. Do you know the best way to inquire? Letter? Call? Online inquiry? All three?

Have you heard anything yet? I hope so! I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

We finally received both his approval letter and green card on the same day (April 16th). It took 162 days from the interview to the final decision notice. No idea why, but I know it can be frustrating reading a thread and not getting the final result so here's ours. Green card is finally here!

Congratulations! Do you mind telling me if your green card start date was from close to when you received it, or from the date of the interview? I'm worried I'll lose a ton of eligibility time towards citizenship...

I'm now 22 days out (Washington DC office) and noting further - still just showing as Interview Scheduled. I got a Tier 2 callback and asked or a case inquiry and got this yesterday "USCIS records indicate your case is pending review by an Immigrations Services Officer at this time.  We regret that we cannot provide a timeframe for completing the review.  We will mail you a notice when or if any action is required.  Please use the links listed below for any updates in your case.".

So I guess all I can do now is wait. It's pretty frustrating to have been verbally approved in the room and now nothing...

That sounds like exactly what happened to us. The interview went great and we left hearing it'd be 3-6 weeks max before he got his card. We spoke to Tier II and sent in a formal request after the 120 days they say to wait before contacting, and the letter came back saying his background check was still being processed. No idea why as he's had multiple background checks during earlier steps in the process. I don't think it was anything we did that sped it up, I think eventually it just got moved forward or found on someone's desk.

Unfortunately, the date on the green card is the approval date, not the interview date. We have the same frustration about it as he plans to apply for citizenship as soon as he's eligible. We were delayed 7 months due to COVID (our original interview was canceled) and another 5 months post interview to receive the card. I feel your frustration.
