Hey!

I have a question. i have been living in america. I came with  k1 visa and I married here. I have a greencard but I change my last name so I'm using my husband last name. I did not report my marriage to my country. I want to visit my family but Do I need to declare my marriage?

With which surname will I buy my plane ticket?  And will this be a problem? If you have information, I would be glad if you inform.

I should do it soon because not in the state where I found a consulate

Thanks

Im unaware of having to declare your marriage in any country.

For instance, its usually not necessary in the USA, however some city offices may give trouble about it.

It's always good to have an apostiled copy just in case.

I would think the name on the ticket should match the passport.

Smh. People don't freak out for no reason

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Never heard of it being a requirement.  My wife travels all the time using her married name on the plane tickets, even though her passport still has her family name.

That's great, but they wouldn't be wrong to give an issue, if you do a google search you'll see many people have had problems.

It's also a TSA rule.

Other countries can be more strict about this too, whereas in the US things might be a little more flexible.

Agree.  My wife and I were actually trying to figure out about declaring our marriage in Brazil, but it can easily be dont at the Brazilian Consulate.  Problem is there are only a couple here on the West coast.

In Mexico they gave me trouble with my middle name, in the states it's common not to use it, but since they saw it on my birth certificate they required it on the ID.

Luckily we were able to do things in a tourist city where they're used to foreigners.

O wow.  Didnt think a middle name was that much of importance.   One thing me and my wife are worried about was on my step sons green card, he has 7 names, 1 of his names is missing 1 letter and we thought we would just get hassled at customs but so far so good.

In many countries, it's mandatory to declare it.
