Hello, I just wanted to share my timeline. Filed N400 in 2019 October and got biometrics done December 2019, then received letter for interview set for tomorrow January 6th 2021.

It took a little longer than expected but so far no hiccups with anything yet. I'll update with results.

Thank you all for the support. I passed the interview! The officer was very thorough but that's her job.

She asked me only 6 questions which luckily I knew all the answers for. Had to schedule the oath ceremony for the 21st since it was backed up.

On the bad news, I got tested positive for covid. Sucks but at least I have very mild symptoms only.

Congratulations!! What are the documents did you have to take with you? How do they take English test? My n400 (through marriage) interview is coming up on Feb 11. But my I-751 is still pending though. I am not sure if I have to take all the supporting documents to prove my relationship with my spouse. Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I took whatever the interview letter said to bring. My wife's birth certificate, my passport and marriage certificate. Also divorce certificate if you've been previously married. I only needed to show the officer my marriage certificate.

English read and write test was to read one question and write the answer on an iPad they have. They'll give you the answer to the question so it was easy.

I'm on the same boat. I'm having a combo interview I-751&N400 tomorrow Jan 6th. and I am shaking now

Hey, how did your interview go? Did they send you the letter saying it was combo interview? My N-400 interview is scheduled for Feb 11 but i-751 is still pending. I am assuming mines will be combo too.

Did you have to take your spouse to your interview too? Since yours was combo, what other documents did you take besides the ones mentioned in the n-400 interview letter? Appreciate your help 🙏

Hi there

I got approved both and in line to be scheduled for Oath Ceremony. I received N-400 interview letter on Nov 30th for interview on Jan 6th, then 1.5 week just before the interview, I received another letter for I-751 interview with same date, time and location with N-400.

I took my spouse with me to my interview. I took updated tax transcripts, bank statement, health/auto/life insurance, some pictures, that's all. I handed all to the officer that interviewed me but he didn't even bother looking at them.

My timeline FYI

I-751

12/31/18: sent I-751

01/04/19: case received

01/09/19: phone notification of receipt

01/10/19: cheques cashed

09/21/19: finger print review completed

11/8/19: finger print obtained

11/8/19: finger print review completed

01/14/2020: case was transferred to NBC

12/30/2020: interview scheduled for Jan 6th 2021

01/06/2021: interview - approved

01/06/2021: new card is being produced

01/07/2021: case was approved

01/12/2021: card was mailed

01/14/2021: card received.

N-400:

01/13/2020: N-400 Filed online
01/18/2020 biometrics appointment scheduled for Feb 4th 2020
02/04/2020 Biometric done
11/30/2020 Interview for N-400 scheduled same day same time with I-751 for Jan 6th, 2021
01/06/2021: combo interview approved
01/07/2021: N-400 recommended to be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.
01/07/2021 Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled
Waiting for Oath Ceremony

My interview was scheduled on 1.10pm but wasn't called til 2.15pm (Atlanta Field Office). It was super simple. I bought some of updated documents like bank stt, proofs of health insurance, Auto/Home insurance, utility bills... Officer asked me if I wanted to provide him any updated documents, i handed to him all, He took them but didn't bother look at them. He asked my husband (the petitioner - USC) :
How we met? when did we got married? any child (no)?
Then He said he thinks that there's no issue so he will approve this I-751, then move to N-400 questions, He asked my husband to step out and wait outside. N-400 questions, writing, reading was all simple, then he had me confirm my info what will be on my Citizenship Cert.
Then that was it. He said he will submit the case for quality review, then it should be approved.
What I need to do is just wait.
 good luck.

Thanks a lot.  I do appreciate you taking your time for all the info in detail.  Did they ask you to bring your spouse at the interview?

In the N-400 notice of interview letter, they didn't require to bring spouse. However, In the I-751 letter, it was specifically stated that I must bring my spouse to the interview. So I brought my husband with me and I am glad that I did.
