I am US citizen and I filled petition of my wife. I am thinking to visit india as it is taking long time. I have valid (till December 2028) T-1 tourist visa of India, can I travel on the visa to india?

This appears to be a travel question, not a visa process question.

This is not true. Visas issued before March are ineligible for entry, but you can apply for an emergency X visa at your local consulate embassy on the basis of your spouse being in India. I did the same to come visit my wife.

Do you have the link for applying the X visa and the requirements? Could you please send me that.

also, I checked with then consulate if india and they said all tourist visas are suspended until further notice.

There's no singular link. Depending on your consulate they have different processes. I'd call and ask about getting an emergency visa (this is the X visa)

I keep calling them , they are no answering or replying any email. My consulate is in SF

My consulate is SF as well. I even emailed VFS and they told me to contact Consulate and I contacted them and they never responded. On the consulate website it lists the fees and stated the money order must be made to VFS but VFS had nothing to do with emergency visa. This was while ago.I just ended up applying for OCI last month. Here's the link: https://www.cgisf.gov.in/page/emergency-visa-instructions/

Dear Sir/Madam,

As per Ministry of Home Affairs' travel guidelines dated 21.10.2020:-

i) Foreign nationals are not permitted to travel to India on Tourist visa/e-visa.
ii) All foreign nationals intending to visit India for any purpose (including their dependents on appropriate category of dependent visa) except those on Tourist Visa are permitted to enter      India by water routes or by flights including those under the Vande Bharat Mission or ‘Air Bubble’ (Bilateral Air Travel   Arrangements)   Scheme or by any non-scheduled commercial flights as allowed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

iii) All existing visas, except electronic visas (e-Visa), Tourist visa and Medical Visa, which remained suspended, shall stand restored with immediate effect. If the validity of such visa has expired, the foreign national may obtain a fresh visa of appropriate category/sub-category from the Indian Mission/Post concerned. In the case of Medical Visa (including visa for Medical Attendants), foreign nationals intending to visit India for medical treatment in emergencies may be granted Medical visa for appropriate period by the Indian Missions/Posts. The condition of obtaining a visa will not apply to dependent family members of foreign diplomats/officials who are eligible for visa exemption in terms of bilateral visa exemption agreements or visa   specific AGREEMENTS ENTERED INTO BY India with various countries. Foreign nationals covered by para above will not be permitted to travel to India on the strength of any electronic visa (e-Visa) obtained earlier.
