I am in Kitchener Waterloo area and looking to obtain the RCMP certificate needed for NVC stage of IR1 process.

1. What is the best way to get the certificate? I found https://www.f1fingerprint.ca/kitchener but they say they only take fingerprints, send it to RCMP in Ottawa, whih then snail mails you the police certificate. He said it could take 3 weeks or longer to arrive.

2. Has anyone done this recently, how did you do it?

3. Has anyone done this recently, how long did it take for your police certificate to come?

4. What is the current best way to do this in he fastest manner possible? I am willing to go to Commissionaires Toronto or to RCMP if required.

Thanks!

I went to Commissionsires. I had 2 done,  one year apart and they both  arrived in the mail within 10 days. Commissionsires has an electronic print scanner and all of the information is sent directly to the RCMP through the internet.

There are already many discussions about this on VJ actually.

Commissionnaires is great, they knew what I needed even though I had the requirements. One week later I had the police certificate in the mail.

I read that RCMP does not necessarily know what to do exactly with the request.

I am in Cambridge and did my fingerprints with Frontier 1 in December. They are great. I had to redo mine because the OPP put the wrong info on my form last March. I brought a photo of the correct form I need and the incorrect one I received and he knew exactly what to do.

book your appointment online. Bring your 2 pieces of ID with you. You have to fill out some info, DOB, address, etc and then he takes the fingerprints and your photo. He goes over everything with you and explains what to do if you don’t receive your background check within 3 weeks.
I was also told it can take 3 weeks to receive But it only took 2. I highly recommend them.

Thank you so much. Did it come in the mail? Also, did you get both types or just one. I've red that for some people one is accepted, for some the other.

Yes it came in the mail.

I got the newest form that says for personal use- other- provide info.
My interview isn’t until Jan 20 so I don’t know if they will accept it or not. But I printed the page from the interview spreadsheet that explains the changes as I couldn’t find anything on the RCMP website.
