Hello,

I am currently at the NVC stage and am submitting all the necessary documents. On CEAC there is a message stating you must bring all original documents (not photocopy) to your interview. My mother will be co-sponsoring my husband and I am uploading copies of her birth certificate & drivers license as proof of US citizenship and proof of US domicile. Will I need to give my husband my mother’s original birth certificate for his interview? Obviously he won’t be able to take her drivers license with him to another country , so a photocopy of that will do?

No. The originals London wants to see are the beneficiary’s passport, birth certificate, police certificate, marriage certificate (and any others as appropriate to a few like military records, etc.)

I will add that several in London lately have been told at interview they did not upload the W2s (spouse and your Mom) to NVC, even when they clearly did and the applicants can look and see them there. Somehow it is not visible to London. Maybe upload any W2s again (to NVC) the morning of your interview or evening before and see if that works. Otherwise the visa processing is halted briefly until the new upload is received. Or even have pdf on your phone or tablet to upload before you leave the building if needed. A paper copy in hand was rejected. They insisted on upload.
