I'll be gutsy and say I think it can be called for Warnock at this point. Ossoff and Perdue still too close to call. But I think Ossoff has the edge with the votes left to count being mostly in Dem-leaning counties.

To be useful to me, tell me whether I can go to bed without missing anything.

With that latest dump, I'll go out on a ledge and say Warnock and Ossoff win. Clean out your desk, Mitch.

Sleep well. :)

Actually they are saying it might be the new NC. At least according to 538.

best case scenario for Democrats, at least in the near future, is that georgia is purple and a swing state

Florida is Floridaing so just count those people out

Ohio looks pretty red for now- no longer should be considered a swing

Wisconsin is a swing I think, as is Michigan and Arizona

Democrats really need to do some good things to have any chance of staying out of minority rule

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

this is true, but there are universal good things that most people can agree on like getting people vaccinated quicker so we can fully reopen and put people back to work again,  bringing back supply chain jobs so that we are never in this position again when the next pandemic happens etc

I would say the Dems need to immediately:

- Treat COVID seriously, get the vaccine rolled out

- Treat those who need financial help with compassion and dignity instead of begrudgingly throwing a few dollars at them

- Get the economy back on its feet

Longer term:

- Make healthcare affordable

- Tackle climate change

- Fix relationships with our allies and restore American leadership abroad

Biden's got two years to get this done. I expect that his re-election chances (or Harris' election chances if he doesn't run again) hinge on those first two years.

They have already started off the bat doing something stupid by voting Pelosi for speaker without any concessions. The Progressives had a chance to get something for their vote and they got exactly nothing..... There was a movement about #Forcethevote to try and get it floor vote on M4A, so that they know who stands where on it. So I don't want to see anything from them in regards to M4A from them.

I know locally the new Congresswoman has already gone against her 2018 pledge and people are covering for her saying "Well that was 2 years ago in a different district so it doesn't count". The problem with that statement is that NC is getting a new seat for 22' and all the districts will be redrawn. Which I can guarantee you that her district will be redrawn and it won't be as favorable to her as it is now

With both the House and Senate so tight, I expect the Biden administration is going to have to work with progressives if he has any hopes of getting legislation through.

But I do agree on Pelosi, although maybe for different reasons. I'm tired of elderly white people running government. I'd really like to see someone under the age of at least 60 as Speaker.

Unless he's changed his mind recently, no.
