Waiting for my dad’s interview letter

Hello everyone!

I am US citizen and have applied for my father. His case is approved and every thing has completed on september 2020. Since then we are waiting for his interview letter but nothing has come yet. 
I called NVC and asked them. They told they have everything. They dont want any thing else. Its just they have to sent my father’s interview letter. I am waiting for that since 2020. 
I want to know that does someone else here waiting for their parents interview letter? Or how long they take to send the letter?

That visa category is currently banned by a P residential Proclamation until March 31st. Meaning he can't get a visa, no interview letter until sometime after it has been lifted.

Your father is waiting outside the US right? You mentioned NVC so I figured. IR5 visa?

So sorry. That category has been banned since April 2020. If it is lifted then, I imagine there might be a huge backlog of cases. All categories except for children and spouse of US citizens is banned 😔

I feel for you! We also are waiting for interviews for both of my husband's parents. We were waiting for December 31st when the ban was first scheduled to end then it got extended to March 31st. :(  I am hopeful the new administration may shorten it but, right now, that is just hope.

In the April 22 proclamation, there aren't blanket bans based on categories. Thus, a few IR-5, F2A, etc. cases that meet very narrow exceptions are getting visas:

It's a longshot, but does your father meet one of the following exceptions: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2020/04/27/2020-09068/suspension-of-entry-of-immigrants-who-present-a-risk-to-the-united-states-labor-market-during-the (Also I-601A provisional waiver cases and a few others are exempt because of Section 2a exempting those physically inside the US on April 23, 2020)

(vii) any member of the United States Armed Forces and any spouse and children of a member of the United States Armed Forces;

(viii) any alien seeking to enter the United States pursuant to a Special Immigrant Visa in the SI or SQ classification, subject to such conditions as the Secretary of State may impose, and any spouse and children of any such individual; or

(ix) any alien whose entry would be in the national interest, as determined by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or their respective designees.

Simply summarizing in the simplest of terms bc that's what the ban essentially amounted to and sc explanation of why they might not have gotten an IL yet. 

Helpful to mention the exemptions tho.

I am also waiting for my mom interview. She suppose to be here March last year. Yeah...when all the covid storm hit. I was really devastated when I know that it continue to be banned until March 31st. Hopefully when Biden up the ban lift up. Will that even possible?
