hmm...the Galleria...no, no idea ...matter of fact, this is the first time I've heard of it. I think I'm ready to get the heck outta this apartment. Hubster is wanting me to apply at jobs closer to here but I am still soooooooo against working in a big chain. There is a CVS on the corner about 1 minute from my place but it just isn't what I want. I didn't move to Houston to get a job I didn't want, I came here to better my life, or at least keep it the same.....*sigh* MBP, wanna go out today? :):):):)

aww I would, but we have plans today. Idir's first day off since he started working. Can I get a rain check?

The galleria is a huge huge shopping mall- really high end, but also normal stores. (I found a Ralph Lauren dress I wnat there- only cost $4000 LOL) there is a ice skatin rink, huge food cort and a couple of hotels and large number of restaurants. Do feel free to call me any time. You have my mobile.

Rain checks are perfectly ok with me. I totally understand how busy life gets. No worries!!! The galleria sounds like an interesting place. I may have to check that out sometime if I don't get lost! I know there are more than just 2 or 3 of us in the area...... I'm probably going to go to Dimassis again this Sunday if I can talk the hubster into it. I LA-LA-love that place!! AAAAAAAAnd considering the fact that we still don't really have any food in the house could be a factor also *tee hee*. We will see. . . .

Do any of you know where the immigration office is in Houston? Also, do any of you know where to get the papers to start the removal of conditions process?

The immigration office in Houston is near intercontinental airport. You take 45 North and exit just before the exit for the airport. It's a block or two off the service road. VJ should have te info on removing conditions in teh guides. I think you send it to TSC. You may never have to go to the houston office for an interview...at least you can hope ;)

Met someone new yesterday. She's American and married to a Jordanian. Her husbands dad and my hubbies dad are best friends so that is kinda cool. They only live about 20 minutes away (in which direction, I have no clue). They also have 3 kids and 1 of them is my sons age. They get along just peachily so that's another plus. We spent some time at their home yesterday where she cooked an amazing meal that could have fed an army. She also has some other friends she wants to introduce me to and I think I totally need that.

Need to find the form to change my address. Need to get cable turned on so I can watch Big Brother 8 !!! Must get electricity turned on in our names. Seriously gotta go grocery shopping. Need to buy myself a nice pair of work shoes. Wish we could find living room furniture so we could stop sitting on the floor. Dining room furniture would be nice also. Gotta call all the bill companies and change my address. Must speak with the main office of the complex coz our mail box key isn't working. So so so many things to do and so little time.........

so far the weather sucks. I think the hubster and I will go this sunday! probably after noon. The one we like is on kirkwood. The owner and my husband are from the same city in Jordan so they like to chit chat. nobody else seems interested though. *sniff* :)

Oh my gosh!! I keep hearing about enjoying arabic food in Houston and Austin.. but nothing in Temple or Killeen.. I guess this means we're going out for a few nice rides when my husband "finally" gets here. I can't wait. Anywaaaaaaaaay... I need to practice cooking some of these wonderful dishes before he comes.. Looking for good Jordanian recipes and places to eat in Central Texas.. Any info..PM or post it and I will look out for it. Thanks!!

Hey girls, A friend of mine turned me to an arabic store in Houston called "Adams". Any of you ever been there? It's awesome!!! Most everything there is cheap cheap with the exception of the beef and lamb. Their chicken was cheaper than HEB and Walmart. Good for me since I was making mansaf with chicken. WOOT It's like 1 minute from my house too so that totally rocks!!! It's on Westheimer between Shadowbriar and Kirkwood. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it.

I made my own version of galait bandoora the other night. It was so so so yummy. Hubster said that it tasted exactly like his mamas which made me feel totally great! I fried white onions and green peppers in a little bit of olive oil, when they were golden, I added 2 cans of diced tomatos and fried it for about 10 minutes, added a lot of garlic salt, salt, pepper, a bit of all spice. mixed well. quartered 2 large taters and quartered the quarters. covered and simmered for like 20 minutes (until the taters were soft). served with hot arabian bread and it was awesome. the next night we put the leftovers over beef steaks...*drool* ... try it

It seems that Sundays are the only days we will ahve off together so its my only day for Dimassis. I should have at least 1 day off during the week so let me know which days work best and we can try to work something out...or hey, you can just come over to my place if ya want!
