Does anyone know if you can leave the country and come back with an expired green card + 24 month extension letter while ROC has RFE pending?

My mom had a heart attack. She's in the ICU but stable. I might have to go visit her soon but I'm worried about the pending RFE

Yes you can travel, no problem.

Hope your mom recovers soon.

I guess I am first EAC to get approved, since we got the "New Card is being produced today" unless it's cheating because my case was transferred to NBC.

BTW, I filed for N-400 on November 16 2021. On the very next day Nov 17th 2021 my I-751 case was transferred to National Benefits Center.  Seems likely that the filing of the N-400 resulted in the I-751 being transferred and finally resulted in the "New card" today.

I'm curious if others are going to see similar results with their I-751 being expedited by the filing of the N-400 or if my case being transferred one day later was coincidence.

Hey! congrats! I was just wondering, you are a January filer right? How come you filed N-400 in November , you were eligible ?

I filed I-751 later, could have filed November instead of January. We moved into our home late December, didn’t want to file and do change of address so decided to just send forms after we moved.

Are you from Canada? I am also from Canada, currently residing in Chicago.  Since November 2021, it says case pending to schedule an interview. I haven't received anything after that. Not sure long long more it takes.

My husband is Canadian.  :)  We're in Chicago, too!

Which office is handling the processing?  (My guess is Nebraska (LIN), which is going slow.)  If your interview takes place in Chicago, it should be pretty easy.  You might want to get a taxi or an Uber so you don't have to deal with parking.  I don't recall it being too far from Union Station.

My case went to MSC service center. I am not even sure how they are processing.  Thanks for the info!
