Ah, perfect! Thank you so much! And it makes sense - I am in Maryland.

I guess we’re kinda lucky our filing time is during covid, can’t travel as often nowadays anyway.

Filled and sent on Jan 7th(two days before cutoff time 😬) they cashed the check Feb 11... was hoping this time is would be faster but i guess it won’t.

So, I got my NOA a few weeks ago, but I just got another text with a case status #. When I check it it says they received my fingerprint fee for form I-131?!?!?! I definitely did not file a I-131. The NOA even says case type is I-751. Is this just bad software? Also says it is going to Nebraska SC. Is that normal for a Washington state resident?

Hi there, If you take a look at your NOA1 the first line outlines that "this notice" presented with your expired permanent resident card, is evidence of your status and work authorization. As far as I understand there are no easy methods to receive a certified copy of a NOA so logic would say you must carry the original.

Our experience has been to be vigilant and be over-prepared with information rather than not have information. We traveled out of the USA and waited at the port of entry for 5 hours when returning back to the USA due to a typo on my wife's file, what saved us was having the entire NOA string on our person to show the officers. They fixed the issue and we have traveled in and out without anymore delays but still carry a binder for good measure.

for your information !

Don’t you have to get stampped from federal plaza before leaving to out of country ?

no.

I just crossed from San diego to Tijuana by walking.I did not get stamp or anything else. When I was coming back to san diego , USA officer only checked my expired green card and extended letter. that's it.
