Just saw on my USPS delivery that I have a letter from USCIS coming today. I wonder if it is a biometric waiver or an RFE. SRC center

Update, I checked my case status and as of 03/08 they updated my case waiving the biometric and using the ones from my AOS. 

Package received on 01/06 and NOA from 02/06.

Going by what you guys are saying in this thread, it typically takes 4-5 weeks for check to be cashed and 8-10 weeks or so for receipt/18-month extension. Correct?

Seems like they are moving pretty fast compared to before.

We received the paper saying Biometrics were waived early last week, but our USCIS status never updated. Weird.

 

And someone above said it seemed a lot of NJ and NY based applicants were going to Vermont (EAC) and yes, we fit that! Married in NYC and living in NJ now.

I see a lot of people having the Biometrics waived (yay!),  but, um, didn't we pay $85 for a Biometrics fee--they just keeping that money lol?

Ugh, yes. My husband and I were talking about that with our family. AND on the bottom of the letter it says your "fee will not be refunded." AWFUL.

Little update that may be useful for NJ applicants who need to renew their licenses: My license (and my GC) expire tomorrow but I was able to renew it today into a Real ID valid until 9/22.

 I mention this because license renewal appointments were not available until later in April and I wouldn’t have been able to drive for awhile but Real ID appointments seem to be easier to get (I could’ve scheduled at an earlier date but I was concerned my NOA wouldn’t arrive on time).

Great news, didn't think you could get Real ID. Believe we chatted about this before. 

 

I contacted all my local NJ govt and assembly people and one of them was helping me get an appointment at the MVC. I ended up getter her an appointment by luck, I signed onto the scheduling site and found an appointment the SAME DAY! She did have a 2 week period of no license as we waited for the NOA1.

I’m glad you were able to get a same day appointment! 
The language on the NJ dmv website is tricky regarding Real ID for us on an extension letter but hopefully this will help others in the same situation

Does anyone knows Driver's license can be renewed before getting green card renewal letter from USCIS? My green card is expired on Mar 3rd and still haven't get any notification from USCIS.

SAW THE USCIS $680 PENDING ON THURDSAY ON MY CREDIT CARD. GOT A TEXT ON SATURDAY - RECEIPT DATE IS LISTED AS FEB 10TH. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT CENTER IS PROCESSING CASES WITH "YSC" START?
