Seems to be about subsidies and not access.

Anyway I thought CA self funded immigrant etc healthcare for the first 5 years?

They cover "undocumented" immigrants according to this article.....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yea so from the article i posted in original post, to me it seems like judges ruled in favor of trump, considering subsidies on healthcare.gov as public charge, with one judge descend who disagreed. But it says it will get implemented after 52 days, and if biden acts quick he can have it not implemented,  but who knows.

 

   I am thinking a step ahead, it may make people who get subsidized health coverage not able to sponsor anymore as well??? Just like trump said if you get Medicaid you cant? Correct me if i am wrong..

   Also , in future gov can charge sponsors if the people they help immigranting get insurance subsidies,  and tell them to pay back any subsidies the immigrants have gotten??

It is an interesting topic and one all countries with a health care system have to contend with, providing subsidies for aged parents on the face of it does not make a lot of sense, I think the US has not addressed it as to the extent there is a system it is screwed up. Interesting to compare with for example Canada.

The court case is specifically about PP 9945, which in turn applies only to entry to US with immigrant visa (IV), and does not apply to nonimmigrant visas (NIV) or to applicants for adjustment of status to lawful permanent residence within the United States. After entry to the US with the IV, could still sign up for subsidies if eligible. The PP is specifically about US entry.

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
