Hey everybody! I had my interview yesterday and passed. I was very lucky and got a jovial, very nice officer. Took the 2008 test, although he started with the 2020 but realized he was supposed to ask which one I wanted haha.

Anyway, after the interview I was told that since I hadn’t crossed the three year mark yet since I had permanent residency approved, my oath would be after that date (not that they were doing same-day ceremonies anyway... I’m in El Paso). My status quickly moved to in line for oath ceremony after the interview.

Hoping to hear good news from everybody else here soon!

Wow, congratulation....this is so nice.

Had a quick interview today, didn't need to bring anything extra but myself, my letter and my green card. Officer confirmed my general info, then asked 6 fairly easy 2008 civics questions. I can't remember them all since the interview went so quickly:

How old do citizens have to be to vote?

The Federalist Papers are important... Name one of the writers.

What are two duties of a citizen to serve?

How many senators are there?

I cannot for the life of me recall the other 2. Not sure why though. He asked me to read something along the lines of "Where does the president live?" And then I had to write on a tablet that didn't move "In the White House in Washington D.C." in my terrible chicken scratch (hard enough to write on a tablet with those pens for touch scenes) that was at least somewhat legible.

The officer then went over more of my application, "no" to all the required no questions, "yes" to all the yes questions. Apparently the online form clears some (3) of the "no" questions about Nazis so I had to sign off that he made changes to my application.

Did a quick overview to ensure that my name/dob/etc all looks right for the oath ceremony. No same day Oath Ceremony here as it's not as popular a spot. I'll have to wait a few weeks and get a letter on my official date.

I updated the Google sheet to reflect my changes

I apparently locked myself out of updating  anything else on my post above, but I did bring my wife and my 2020 taxes (proof of marriage stuff), marriage certificate, wife's birth certificate, passport and proof of no need to sign up for Selective Service

And I meant screens instead of scenes above talking about writing on the tablet.

Had my interview yesterday in Louisville, KY. Applied January 6th, Interview notice sent March 2nd, Biometrics waived. I was eligible based on marriage for 3 years.

It was so fast and easy, I'm now a little nervous they forgot to ask or do something! The officer was incredibly nice. I arrived to the room about 15 minutes early, they took me in 10 minutes early. There was only 1 other person waiting.

I took all of our paperwork, husbands BC and Passport, marriage certificate, my passports and visas. The only thing he asked to see was my Green Card to verify my identity. I did upload all of that into my online application, so maybe that's why they didn't take copies?

He asked me the 6 questions, all from 2008 test. He didn't give an option to do 2020, but I wanted 2008 anyway.

1. When do we celebrate Independence Day?

2. Name 3 of the original States.

3. Why did Colonists come to America?

4. How many amendments to the Constitution are there?

5. What do we pledge allegiance to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance?

6. Name 2 rights of everyone living in the US.

I got those right. Then he asked me to read 'When is columbus day?' from a tablet, then write 'Columbus Day is in October' on the tablet. There was no pen so had to use my finger which was harder but apparently legible!

He went over the questions from my application about organizations I'd been apart of and violence etc, all normal and nothing had changed. Asked my Biometric information to confirm and all was normal.

I had to sign the tablet to say nothing had changed, and that my info was all accurate for my certificate. He explained what we pledge when we become citizens and if I was ok with that, and I signed that too.

Then he said it would take a few minutes while he updated my record, then he printed the paper saying I had passed and was recommended for Approval. He congratulated me and said I'd receive a letter for my Oath in 2-4 weeks.

This morning my status online changed to 'Recommended for Approval' and then 'Oath Ceremony will be Scheduled'.

I am very thankful it's all over and was so fast and easy compared to all of the other visa applications we've dealt with!

Good luck everyone will waiting!
